My first Omega Diver - 2223.80
« on: August 10, 2016, 08:35:44 AM »
Found love recently with Omega watches. With limited budget and tiny wrist size, i find this 'red' seamaster quartz a good buy :) The 2nd gen Bond's smaller cousin i presume, 2223.80 aka the 36.25mm SMP. Just cannot resist the wave design on the dial as I feel that it looks better than the latest version.

I did notice that the 36.25mm calculation is not inclusive of bezel hence it looks almost the same size as my SKX013 which states a 38mm size :o and before i saw it for the first time, have always thought that it is smaller.

It is a fine watch despite its age and I like the bracelet a lot as it wears around my wrist nicely with just one complain LOL for this midsize version at 18mm lug size, bracelet use is the 1502/824.

Ppl with tiny wrist 6.25inch cannot afford to slap anything that is bigger than 42mm LOL

The lume on the watch is really bright for its age and like comments which compare this with the SMP sword hand, the lume on hands are a bit difficult to read due to its skeleton design. I dont have the sword hand version though.

Can't say much about the movement since it is a quartz version using the Omega 1538 movement.

Thanks bro hitsugayat10.

I bought this watch at a boutique when I was on business trip to Paris. The seller recommended it to me since it was a rare SeaMaster with transparent caseback whereby SeaMaster is normally comes with solid caseback. I believe it is now a discontinued model, if I'm not mistaken.

A Blog to Watch has a good write-up and review on this watch. Enjoy your reading.
