Hi MWF and it's ever experienced members.. What can I get with RM 5000 and is a German manufactured watch? Has to have 20mm lug width and a case height of no more than 13mm.. Thanks a lot!

Are you asking our preference between Sinn and Stowa?
In this case Sinn hands down aesthetically, technologically and historically. Stowa has very little to do with the company that created watches pre WWII as it was bought in 1996 basically just for its name.

Aside from Sinn and Stowa (of the two, I would probably go for a Sinn), you may wish to consider a Laco.
Good luck in your hunt...

I like Sinn. So Sinn for my vote.

Sinn vs Stowa? It depends on your preference actually and how the watches feel on your wrist. Once youve tried both of them on, you will know what i mean.
I used to like Sinn a lot on paper, until i tested them on my wrist and realized that it was too bulky for me. Stowa on the other hand may seem too utilitarian to some ppl, hence i really suggest you try both of them first.
Disclaimer: Im an owner of 2 stowas, my views will be biased. ::)

Stowa if you want the modernise flieger look, laco if you want the old school look, Sinn or Damasko if you want the tech, Archimede if you want budget
Despite people say Stowa is not the same as the original company, it is indeed faithfully following the original Stowa DNA and taking over by Jorg Schauer (an award winning watchmaker) from Werner Storz, two years before he passed away. Note: Werner Storz is the son of stowa founder, Walter Storz.
Even Sinn is no longer under Helmut Sinn family when he sold the company to IWC engineer Lothar Schmidt in 1994. But that doesn't make Sinn a lesser brand. Many brands is like that, just take a look at those conglomerate like Richemond group.
Anyway, have fun researching for your purchase.
PS: I'm slightly bias too as I'm the owner of 11 Stowa.

I maintain my comment from what I know from the brand and what I have read from several articles.

You are already looking for support or argument on WUS! That is weird.

Well, depends what’s the preference you’re looking for bro, Sinn, popular for tool and divers. Stowa, more to Flieger, the divers not that appealing. Damasko and Dievas are something like Sinn but the casings are superb.
20mm lug with 13mm above, hmmmm...
Sinn 556A new or 756 used.

very good post (#14)
makes me want to buy a Stowa

I own a Stowa Flieger Type-A 90th anniversary edition and I really enjoy it!
Only thing that bugs me a little is the water resistance.
I'd go for Sinn if you're looking for a all-round daily watch - Sinn 556i or 104!

Stowa - A brand with history of aviation in WW2. Quality is good but not darn good.
Sinn - Expensive but original design. Probably will outlast its owner haha
