Newbie Watch Collector
« on: November 27, 2022, 03:30:40 PM »
Hello everyone newbie here,

Hoping to learn more from the masters here, started my collection with a B&R 03-94 but sold it for a top gun and eventually for an Omega.

Looking forward to discussions!

Judging by the number of new members introducing themselves, we need to get more users in the loop. What is the most efficient way of finding new members and retaining or keeping the conversation going? Is everybody really moving to social media to discuss and share about watches?

forum days are gone...it's FB group + whatsapp/telegram era now but it could also be ending anytime and to be replaced by something else too.

Agreed,
But we are in a unique position in that watches in Malaysia are relatively cheap and given the current exchange rates, it would be attractive for foreigners to buy our watches. How do we drive activity to this forum? The trade of watches on the forum shouldn't be denied as the main driver of traffic here.
It becomes a win-win for everybody no?

I'm guessing, WUS probably is a better platform for that.

I'm still new here and I'm a forum guy myself too, who is still lingering in forums more than FB groups. Still hoping one day to meet more like-minded watch kaki.

Thanks HarleMac
I had a look and its an international market so really quite hard to se,, on that platform. have to deal with taxes and duties etc... makes life tough unless you only sell to say Sg and Malaysia...

Appreciate the heads up!

But yea you're right in that this platform consolidates all buyers and sellers. I wonder how they overcome all the bottlenecks.

we're hijacking Rayzilla's thread but it really isn't that difficult. Just a matter of if one is in the right platform. As a seller you can sell anywhere you want but you're just not going to have many potential non-Malaysian buyer in a Malaysian forum.
