I'm no expert when it comes to investments but my personal preference is still the stock market. The liquidity is a big plus for me.

Gold bars.

Hi Coco,
With gold and other precious metals there are issues with storage and security.
How do you deal with those issues?
Have you also considered solid gold watches (a nice Rolex President will do) as an alternative to gold bullion?

For me my first love is properties. Ever since i made some money flipping my very first one many years ago, i m hooked. Its like drugs. I tell myself i need to stop, but the urge never goes away.

The past couple of years is the most extraaordinary of bull runs for msian prop mkt. A lot of ppl are either sitting on big piles of paper profit or have locked in their profit and spent their money on that rolex president or that pre-V panerai.  :Laughing_on_floor:

there are some taikors in this forum who play props. Hopefully they will share their secret wit us all!!!

I knew you are a wiseman, & unreservedly agreed with you!

Bought a detached house in the UK in '92 @ then meagre exchange rate, sold it at 3.5x the purchased price in '01 & cashed it then @RM6.50+ :Dancing_banana: Luckily, I refused to listen to my colleagues in the UK who told me to keep the proceed there. Re-invested the proceed back into our local market then, ............ again its the current price has increased over 2-3 folds. Maybe time to get rid of some to re-invest into the UK market again. Any expert advise would be most welcome, please.

I am learning only. I dare not be like others who claim they know it all.  ;D

But one thing i think is true, when it comes to judgement call, never listen to other ppl. trust yourself. naysayers will tell you not to buy in when the price is too high. if i had listen to those ppl 5 years ago, i will prob still be cursing. buy at your pace, not others, not your parents, not your friends. if things go wrong, blame youself only.  :HammerHead:

but lastly, dont forget to get that watch you always wanted. It may not be good investment, but it certainly brightens up the day

Actually, now need to pay 20% deposit, am I wrong? That doesn't matter, the millions dollar qn is will the local properties bubbles burst, esp in the commercial sector? ???

last time residential pay 10%. now residential for ppl who hv too many to count with a stick pay 30%, unless u got kangtao to wiggle your way thru. commercial has always been 15% min downpayment.

burst or not very diff to say. most important is if you can support with yields. If you can rent with consistent high yield, shouldnt be a problem. Be worried only if u are going in at levels now.

for me now is the best time to buy more watches. cos exchange rate <3.  :Laughing_on_floor:

Am I wrong that in the a/c you can't actually physically withdraw the actual worth of goldbar?
But, if trade with precious metal broker firm, you can!

Actually, "fish & bear palm" situation, whether shld invest into more kilobars or properties? ;D

u can withdraw the gold actually

I would have to agree that gold is a good investment.
But I don't buy them in bars.
I just buy any gold jewellery and wear them. ;D
Buy for my wife, my kids...
I'm sure if I take em all out and weigh em, it will be substantial.
For me, it's better than stashing a gold bar at home.
Since the price have reached 165 per gram, I have already stopped buying...
The cheapest I bought was rm33 per gram  :o
Most expensive? rm92 per gram...

Then copy the contents, paste it into any free e-mail account like hotmail or gmail and reply frm there.
Save 50sen...
And yeah, any gomen stuff normally is to take advantage of the rakyat...
I would not touch it with a 10 foot pole.

Ok guys, let's cut down on the political discussions here. We don't want to have MWF blacklisted by the govt, then we'll all lose our favourite neighbourhood playground.

No worries. I was being preemptive when I made the post, just to make sure things don't get out of hand.
