Mercedes Benz A250 / CLA250 / A45 / CLA45
« on: April 06, 2013, 11:12:14 AM »
Anyone know when are they launching in Malaysia?  I have a feeling these models can attract a lot of current VW owners. Looking forward to test drive them and hope they are as good as how they look

I read somewhere (most likely Paultan) that A class is coming in September. A200 and A250 spotted in Malaysia already so these are confirm coming over. A180 not too sure yet. Prelim speculative prices are from 170k (A180) onwards till GTI prices 220-230k for A250.

I'd much rather get the much handsomer A180 with 1.6 Turbo (240nm torgue) over the Golf TSI with the infamous DSG problems. This car is currently no.1 on my radar and competing with Mazda 6 for my next year's bonus!

The new Mazda 6 (Mazda Takeri).
That's a homerun!

Mazda 6 looks sexy, handles well (all mazdas, fords do) but I think pick up on the 2.0 abit sluggish lar. Prefer a turboed conti hatchback for better driving feel. :)

But since starting family soon, Mazda 6 maybe more practical!  :Blue:

Mazda is putting in 2.5l petrol engine for their new Mazda 6. I think it should fare quite well.

True, the 2.5 is very nice. I think 190k for a fully loaded Mazda 6, comparable to a A200 in price. :) Jap resale/maintenance also better than conti any day.

But A class got 3 pointed star wor!!!  :Laughing_on_floor: :Laughing_on_floor: :Laughing_on_floor:

both Mazda 6 & MB A class are in different segments.

One are more like family sedan and another one is categorized as hot hatch / compact sport sedan.

If this will be your 2nd car, go for MB A Class for sure.

I highly doubt that the resale price for a Mazda 6 will be better than a Merc A-Class.

I highly doubt that the resale price for a Mazda 6 will be better than a Merc A-Class.

What's your reason for this?

I think traditional view is Naturally Aspirated Japanese car= High Resale Value.
Undersized Turbo Conti= Poor Resale Value.

Generally, Mercs priced <250k tend to hold decent value. Mazda's on the other hand, don't.

Saying undersized turbo conti has poor resale value isn't too accurate. The Golf GTI (especially so the mk5) has held its value tremendously well.

dont care about resell value ,car is losing money when you got on 1st day ,as long as what you enjoy for that car u buy and why we work so hard everyday ?everbody need to reward our self as we buy watchs .if always about resell value would feel more suffer.

Right now, at this CBU price of 200k for A200 and 240k for A250, it's quite pricey. Little bit more can get 3 series. I still think the best alternative buys at the 150-200k range are the Mazda 6 and CX5. I'm eagerly waiting for the CKD Mazda 6!

The CX-5 was 160k CBU last year and is now 145k (equivalent specs). That's a fantastic deal and I hope the same will happen to the Mazda 6 when it is CKD.

Also @ 200k Range BMW 316 is 209k which is a pretty good deal for people who want the badge but not too concerned with power. It's still decent @ 1.6 Turbo with 220nm Torque.

CLA 200 is a joke. Really waste of money. Even Vios is better than that...

It's not a real Benz. Ride comfort is stiff, interior space is awful, visibility terrible, interior plastics low grade... In fact, I think even the front bonnet needs to be propped up with a tongkat when opened  :Laughing_on_floor:
