Some updates and pics.
Met up with Steve, Dpkong @ Donald and Enkidu @ Loo at 4pm.
We went watch hunting at a local pre owned shop.
In my opinion, the range of watches that they have is pretty impressive.
After that, we went to a local watering hole.
Lighting is not really good so quality of pics is not that up to par.
Table shot.
Good variety of watches on display.
As a diehard Zenith fan, I am particularly happy to see this piece. Been wanting a modern Zenith to add to my collection.
Due to the new 42mm case size, I was unsure wether it will fit me.
Feels and looks ok to me.
Big thanks to Enkidu for bringing in the piece.
This piece was an attention grabber as well.
The Longines Legend Diver no date.
I think Enkidu, Steve and Donald only saw this piece for the 1st time.
Shame on Donald and Steve, because this piece have been sitting on a Kuching Local AD Display cabinet for a year!!!
Most agree that the watch is "yiu pee yiu chee" in hokkien.
The pub owner came around and saw the watches on display, we asked him... which one u like?
1st choice is the SubC, no surprise there... his 2nd choice was actually this Longines Legend Diver... which says alot about this watch.
He doesn't give two hoots about the two TT Daytonas there... alamak!! What has the world come to?
Planet Ocean 45.5mm Quantum of Solace.
Hefty watch. Good built quality.
Polar ExpII 16570.
Rolex Daytona TT Panda Dial.
Rolex DSSD... this is one monster of a watch... So big and so thick that it needs macho arms and wrists to carry it...
Rolex SubC... Iconic design... nice heft but not overpowering... I actually liked the black more than the green hulk.
This Seiko chrono is a really really nice watch... it reminds me so much of my Zenith Rainbow Flyback.
I have no idea on the history or model reference and I hope the owner will share more info on this one.
Would hunt for one if priced right.
Donald trying on the SubC...
Loo on the Royal Oak 15400.
This must be Steve's favourite shot... on the Royal Oak 15400 as well.
All in all, this was a fruitful trip for me.
Besides getting the Longines Legend Diver for my friend.
We also talked alot about watches in general.
What we like, what pisses us off...
We reached the pub at a little after 5pm... and we left at 10.30pm (which we continued to some adult entertainment scene) ... we talk kok sing song for a solid 5 hours+... wouldn't last that long if we are not equally happy to talk about our favourite hobby... watches!!
Info and history was shared and free flowing... as well as the beer...
All in all, I would like to thank Donald for the beer and food.
Loo for bringing in His Zenith and Seikos... his knowledge in Seiko and watches in general are pretty good.
Steve for taking me to the adult entertainment scene, spending me congee and bringing me around the next morning as well as sending me to the airport.
The hospitality have been excellent and it has been worthwhile for me.
