Hi,

I am new with this watch project hobby. This is my first attempt. Previously I only make my own strap but now i go further.

I plan to build a PAM homage using Molnija movement. I already bought an old molnija from 1955. But I need to get stem, hands, dial , crown and definitely the case. It will cost money...quite a lot of it....

But, before I start spending a lot of money, I decided that I should try on something cheaper. So i bought a cheap Tianjin movement, fiddy case, sandwich dial and gold hands. And I make my own 26mm leather strap.

I thought it should be straight forward process. However it is not for me.Accidently, whilst loosening the stem lock screw, i overdid it therefore the setting lever fall. The stem couldnt engage. To do that, i have to open up the setting lever jumper, once it opened, my yoke spring jump and overlap with the yoke.....then while i am trying hard to put the yoke back and handling the yoke spring, my nervous hand make thing worst, the intermediate wheel falls....then the castle / siding pinion fall....i am clumsy...so i took a deep breath.....and i take out everything out.....and start from empty movement.....making my way from putting in the winding pinion and siding pinion, putting in the stem, check the pull / push mechanism, then the setting lever, then the yoke and its spring, then all the wheels, and finally the lever jumper....tighten all the screw and thank god, everything working fine.....

So I assemble everything and the watch is completed. Next I make my own 26 mm leather strap. I use genuine leather on both side of the straps (top and bottom) The top is an old brown color leather, then i wax it to get that dark and uneven color....I wanted a rough and raw design, so i did not cut in straight line, and have simple stitching using genuine silk thread... at the back is an old black leather .... once completed it look rough and ugly....i love it....

I have my own  facebook group specifically discussing about my project if you like to know all my upcoming projects....(i have a few) but I am not sure whether i can put my link  here) do PM me if you like to know about it.

The following picture is rather small....a print screen from my FB group...the picture is step by step process of the project...sorry couldn't upload everything here....just to damn tiring to do that....:)

I hope you enjoy my lousy story on this lame project.....hehehehhe
