Airsoft material
« on: July 01, 2012, 11:34:35 AM »
Abel (Gigi) and myself met up the other day at the summit.
After visiting our usual hunt, we scouted around and chance upon a shop that promotes the above merchandise.

Naturally, both of us are excited to view some products here and we asked a lot of question.....

That SA is kind to offer his assistant and answer our lots.
A registration fees is required and a package (helmet/mask/full attire and merchandise) are offered.....
No, we did not take up the offer.

Any members here could share his/her views on this fun hobby???.
Eg, are these legal?...something like the painted ball....

Thanks

I'm into Airsoft for more then 12 years, used to play or we called it skirmish almost every weekend (Oh FYI my age is above 40) and I'm still enjoying it ;D. IMHO it's definitely more fun then paintball. It's still illegal here by the way, but there is a group of people are trying to get it legalize soon..hopefully. Airsoft is a fun sports and it's also called Mil-Sim (Military Simulation). Google it you will find more about this hobby/sports. You'll be surprise on what kind of people are actually enjoying this hobby quietly here...ie. lawyers, doctors, actors and even some prominent public figure ;D We can always meet up and talk about this..pm me.

Close quater battle are quite fast pace, based on my exp with paintball. Fast game = fast finish. Those sniper role usually are longer i think

Maintenance wise for stock aeg can last for a very long time...unless you mod it for higher fps then its different. It's like a car bro...you modified your car for more speed etc. then you require frequent maintenance  ;D Otherwise just for plinking shooting paper targets don't have to worry too much. Anyway stock parts and mod parts are quite easily available nowadays.

As for skirmish...sniper role is nice less movement during skirmish most of the time you're lying down or prone position, but once you're spotted by other parties with aeg then you're a dead meat..full auto versus sniper single shot unless you're using semi full auto sniper rifle then it's a whole different scenario.

FYI stock aeg nowadays shoots around 350-420 fps, sniper air cocking rifle shoots on average of 500fps and has better long range accuracy....it's never too old to enjoy airsoft. I have a few team player age around 50+ who enjoy skirmish more then I do. It's a good way of exercise too and you're gonna sweat like hell with the load you're carrying...

Gigi and David let's 'yumcha' would love to meet up with you guys and talk about watches and airsoft ;D

Yup M4 base is quite common, but M4 series alone has a lot of variants with after market parts. The hardcore ones will have their gear from head to toe to replicate the actual military personnel. ;D Something like Cosplay I guess  :Laughing_on_floor:

Depends..paintball marker shoots around 300fps (standard regulation) where else airsoft shoots on average of 420fps. The difference is in the size of the pellets. Airsoft pellets or bb's is 6mm in size, not sure about Paintball 0.68" if not mistaken. But definitely paintball pellet can leave quite a bruise to your skin ::) but airsoft bb's is solid and won't break upon impact to your skin....you can google it for more info.
