The journey started in the year 2004, where i got my 1st swiss... it's a Tissot T-Race Athens Olympics.
Then a year later.
My 1st Swiss automatic watch.
Maurice Lacroix Pontos Rectangulaire Chronograph Titanium.
Then, when it's time for me to look for another watch 2 years later.
I stumbled upon the lyn watch thread... and with the help of the forum members, I got this.
Zenith El Primero HW
It was at lyn that ck77 introduced me to mwf... I joined...
Then the next thing I know... I am the "accumulating" stage... now I get it...
So my next few purchases in quick succession.
Victorinox Swiss Army Ambassador Automatic.
Seiko Premier SPBJ001.
Glycine Combat Manual.
Laco Miyota Pilot.
Got this Omega Aqua Terra for my dad.
Damasko DC67
Sinn U1 SDR
Omega Seamaster Bond.
So, until this time... my so called collection is still without a specific direction.
It is as though I am walloping whatever my heart fancied at any particular moment.
I serious awakening is needed.
ck77 came down to kk and we have a drink and chat.
We talked about Rolex and I said I am interested in one.
A Polar ExpII if possible.
ck77 brought the word back to KL and soon, I was offered one.
And sure enough, I bought it.
Then I showed it to my dad, he take a look at it and from his face, I could tell that he liked it.
White dial, black hands... excellent legibility of time and date.
So, long story short, I gave it to him.
Sold the Maurice Lacroix, Victorinox, Seiko Premier, Glycine, Damasko and Sinn.
And then I hunt down a Black Dial Explorer II for myself.
This is the stage where someone mention "a stalinist purge"
Sell almost all for a Rolex.
So now I have both Polar and Noire.
Since my dad is wearing the Polar, I took back the Aqua Terra, sold it.
After that, I laid low... try to keep myself busy... For awhile... I was like cured... no desire to look at anymore watches. But who am I kidding right?
Until this came along. Which was funded partly by the sale of the Aqua Terra.
Zenith Chronomaster Open XXT
So, off goes the Zenith El Primero HW.
And then in came this one.
THE Rolex Submariner 14060.
Then this is what I call an "itchy butt" purchase.
Seiko Fifty Five Fathoms Mod.
The Seiko was given to my friend as a birthday present just a few month later.
Then off goes Seamaster Bond.
To usher in this one.
Zenith El Primero Rainbow Flyback.
And then soon enough, a forum member decided to sell this one... which I snapped up in an instant.
Tudor Submariner 94110.
And then I sold the Zenith Chronomaster XXT 45.5mm just so that I can satisfy my curiosity and bought the same watch but in a smaller 40mm size.
Then, just recently pulled the trigger on a long time target.
The Rolex GMT Master II Ceramic.
So, until today, watches that are "mine" consists of
1. Rolex Explorer II Noire 16570
2. Rolex Submariner 14060
3. Rolex GMT Master II Ceramic 116710LN
4. Tudor Submariner Snowflake 94110
5. Zenith El Primero Rainbow Flyback
6. Zenith Chronomaster Open T
Looks more like a "collection" now I suppose.
Thanks for reading.
As of now, I am not sure what is the next addition or subtraction, but whatever it is... no more gung ho!! lol
