CITIZEN Automatic NY6021-51E diver review
« on: April 04, 2012, 01:03:44 PM »
A homage to the venerable Sub.

So similar. Nevertheless, it is unique in its own right. This model that I have is a Japanese Domestic Model and manufactured entirely in Japan. It has a water resistant of 20 ATM or 200 meters. Despite it being promoted as a "diver" watch, it should only be used for water sports activities not for serious diving.

It is as all stainless steel construction with a folding push type band. The dial is black and it has a screw down crown. Luminous paint is available and the glass is sapphire crystal. The back-case is a screw down minus any stamping (again copying the Rolex trait).

Case diameter is 43.5 mm (without the crown) with a thickness of 13.4 mm.

One issue that I have about this watch is the choice of movement. This is a newly designed watch by Citizen. It was publicly launched Mid-2011. Yet, it still uses the 8203 23 jewel automatic (with hand winding but no hack function). They should have used a better movement. Anyway, it comes with a standard accuracy of +20/-10 sec/day. Fully wound, it has a power reserve of approximately 50 hours.

Citizen have some great stuff at fantastic price. I would prefer the watch comes without date though.

it is hard to differentiate whether it is JDM or not, the design and all are almost similar to international model
