Seiko lord marvel 5740-8000 & omega automatic seamaster cal501

Hi guys,need your expert advise. I'm torn between buying either one of these watches. Since i'm new to vintage watches,i'm not quite sure which one to choose. Both watches sing to me but sadly budget only allows for either one. Can't seem to find side by side comparison between these two greats. Was wondering if any sifus out there who have handled these watches. Need your help. Thank you.

Seiko lord marvel is one of the high end watch for Seiko.
There is 2 main generation: low beat and high beat.

The 1st generation is low beat, and base on the "Seiko marvel" caliber.
The 2nd generation (5740 caliber) has 3 variants, A,B and C. The A and B is low beat, and last C is high beat.
The Variant A and B is hard to find (especially the B type).
C type is seiko first successful attempt to achieve 36000 beats movement.

High beat watch is less costly to regulate compare to low beat. And it is resist to fluctuations from external disturbances. However it require more precise of skill and craftsmanship.

All lord marvel variant is hand-winding mechanism (hand winding mechanism usually keep better time compare to automatic winding unless you forget to wind it). The second generation Lord marvel is design for water resistance/proof (of course all vintage watch its water proof mechanism is questionable...)

Thanks bro wongchanseng for the insight. It really helps an ameteur like me to know what to ask before buying. From the pics post by the seller i think it's the C type coz the dial is wihout numbers and on the dial is written 36000. All seems to be in good condition

Haha,bro angryrodent. U've read my mind,if the situation permit i would like both watches.and the situation has somewhat become even complicated coz got an offer for king seiko 28800 high beat.

Niceeee bro. Already pulled the trigger on the King. Your pics are sooo poisonous bro. But still itchiness is still there la bro. The lord marvel would be a fine contrast to the automatic king but the omega would be good variant in my addtion.

superb Lord Marvel u've got there master wong. so the first generation got the 'S' logo on the crown. they don't put it anymore for he later generation i guess. Are all the first generation from Bunta master wong?

King seiko special is hard to find, there were 2 different variants so i far i can see. One is with date and another one is with date/day function. Like most of King Seiko, they are one-piece case and only disassemble by "open through glass" method.
And i got both in my collection, the unique about these king seiko special is that, they will change the date/day swiftly(within a second) after midnight unlike other watch which start date jump from 11pm and complete the change slowly.

bro wongchanseng,the pics is truly poisoinous. the watch is in pristine condition. even mr seiya said that and i quote "Honestly speaking the water proof ability was a weakness. Almost people
take a bath and swim with the watch. So it is hard to find no stain dial on the 52 King Seiko special" end quote. if you're ever feel of passing it on let me be the first to know. such a beauty.

try search in ebay, especially the auction price, it reflect the acceptable price/market price by worldwide collectors.
