Hehehe... something I got myself for Hari Raya...
If one needs a reason to buy watches, plenty can be found.
Contrary to the title, No... I did not take the watch from 007 himself, I bought this with cold hard cash... ;D

Yup... it's the Seamaster 2220.80
From what is reported from the latest Baselworld, this particular model will get a change of design that will eliminate the blue wavy dial and replace it with a plain matte dial... so, this is the time to get these as the wavy dial is on the way out.

Powered by the 2500C which is essentially a 2892 modified by Omega to house it's Co-Axial Escapement.
Chronometer Certified and beats at an unconventional 25200bph... which is 7 beats per second.
It does show when you look closely at the sweeping seconds hand.

The dial is the updated with raised markers with lume encircled in silver.
3D look is the way to go.
The previous model has the dial painted with lume markers.
Some like painted, some like raised... for me, raised markers looks more classy and sophisticated as a whole.

No exhibition caseback for a diver rated 300m WR...
Nicely etched and surprisingly, when worn, feels flat... which is good.
Does not leave a mark when the watch is taken off the wrist.
The Omega globe etching is said to deter fakes... I dunno man, what is so hard about etching a globe on the caseback?
Screw in crown signed with an Omega logo and helium escape valve at 10.
Skeleton hands are unique to this model.
Makes looking at the time a breeze.

Wrist shot.

Thanks for reading and hope you enjoy it.

Congrats on the watch. It is a nice watch.

To answer your question, it is not difficult, but it is additional cost which the fakes may not want to incur. As you rightly said, it acts as a deterrent rather than prevention.

Congratulations. Omega has been inconsistent in the bond watch lately. Even the Black Planet Ocean is known as new bond watch now. Wth... I bought my black SMP because of bond.

Both watches (SMP and PO) are employed in the films featuring Daniel Craig. That's why.

You know what's next...  ;)
Just need to get it at the right price...
Kenot so buta kena take advantage all d time wei... Lol

The recent casino royale bond movie, 007 is wearing the PO for high octane action scenes, but when it comes to the casino part, when he needs to look sharp and suave, he's wearing this seamaster bond. Hehehe

Yalor... buying for family members can reduce the itch for awhile.
And since it also takes a small slice of the budget, it will take some time to replenish back.
Now I have sold most of my watches and left only 3 significant pieces.
I will be adding another one but not so soon because I could not make up my damn mind on which one I want.
I am hoping for a large windfall so that I don't have to choose and buy all...  :Praying:
Might start a thread on opinions on each of those that I am interested in.
Since I am not that knowledgeable in this area.
Always sms and ask ppl questions also abit paiseh...  ;D

No worries mate. All in good spirit so no worries.

I'm rather impressed with your purchases since I came on MWF. Really looks like a good set of watches that have come and go and I have to admit your current collection looks much more finer and elegent. I am still a bit annoyed that I didn't check the sale section fast enough when you (i think i remember it was you) who off loaded the aqua terra especially after such a nice story about it on your dad and Mt KK. Good stuff. Always enjoy your post mate
