USD 570 with extra straps and spring-bars (above and beyond the 2 sets of spring bars from MKII) . Preloved but unused with no scratches. Was equally surprised to find it. Have always wanted to get one but held back because hit and miss with homage watches (although MKII comes with very good reputation and recommendations) and I am a very hands on person, more so watches above USD 500. So it was great to be able to see and handle the watch before buying it. Great homage to the original issued in 1953. I love the 3,6,9 and 12 dial. The difference is the bezel does not have the lume on the 15, 30 and 45 minute markers, it does not have the acrylic on bezel and the crown is different. Of course the Arabic hour markers is also thinner and the font for the minute markers is different.

I missed out on the TR1000 order and this is the next best thing until the new Stingray/ TR comes out.

The original.

Just checking, do u have intention to send it for cleaning or u wanna keep it that way. I know some do wanna keep it original.... just a matter of personmal preferance... I clean all my vintage... but sometimes it's too complicated the job, probably need to goood jeweler to do it.. any recommendation?

The Fifty Fathoms is not mine. How I wish it was.

Ah, the Tag F1, my love hate relationship with TAG. On the early models, the rubber parts have a tendency to rot and fall. Best of all even if you don't use the watch. TAG's solution, change the case. Best part, they cannot guarantee the rubber on the replacement case will not rot. Sigh....

Even the coat on the crown can wear out.

the thing abt rubber is. The lesser u use the faster it deterioates. Just like shoes and full rubber watch band eg casio. I like some of the forumers here, prefer bracelet.

sshark,

Not really true about rubber deteriorate if unused. Look at at my vintage G-Shocks. Most are unused and still original rubber bezel and strap. Can you imagine, Cartier actually says that the life span of their rubber parts is 18 months.

Basically solvents, oils, perspiration, tanning lotion and salt can cause rubber to deteriorate if not removed.

silvertan,

I did ask if TAG can change (and I pay) for the new case with the metal parts. The answer, NO. Sigh....

contrary to popular believe ..PVD done right is really really and i emphasise on really again, tough.

i was ignorant when i got my PVD-ed watch and thought that there were constant hairline scratches on the clasp. as time goes i realise that it was actually metal filings from other metal surfaces rubbing on to my watch.

it's one tough process. i wear my watches to gym and some like my Sub have scratches from the coarse part of the barbells due to my carelessness. but i have rub my Sinn countless times on the barbells and nothing happens but silver streaks that easily rubs off with sweat.

if it's tough enough to be used to coat military firearms, then it'll be good enough for daily wear and tear.

trust me, if you manage to scratch PVD, your S/S watches would come off worse.

Better outrun my gun....faster than my bullet

That strap looks good on your explorer 1. The strap is thick and very soft. Like it.

Might also consider to put one on my sinn 656.

I am almost a recovered watchaholic, but last checked shows only 70% recovered. How?
