Comparing Original vs Replica 6694
« on: May 10, 2011, 02:04:01 PM »
The date for replica is not magnified to 2.5 times. The crown for replica is a bit bigger.

No registration and model numbers engraved at the lugs areas(12 and 6 o'clock) for the replica.

Rolex logo at the bracelet lock for replica is not smooth

Logo at the crown for replica is smaller with 3 dots while for the original, the logo is bigger with a single line under it

For the 6694

I have seen the worst and the best.
I have seen 6694 case but the font on certain digits is different from the original.
I have also seen complete case comes with lens with both model and serial number, back cover, stem and crown together with near authentic looking dial where you just have to fit in the actual movement to assemble the complete watch.
Its very scary outside there. Be very caution when buying pre-owned. If the price is too attractive to be true and when the watch looks brand new, walk away.

Sid
You flattered me. There are still a lot to learn in the world of replicas.
I was so happened to at the place at the right time to witness certain scenarios. A person needs great exposure to tell the different. There are sifus  out there – all he needs to touch and feel the watch and tell you thats a fakes.

And this is just a primarily. A seasoned sifus can also tell you the different by just turning the crown to feel the smoothness and to the sound of the movement to determine its status. Of course a 100% sure way is to open up the back case to access its authenticity.

Any person can be a watch seller. The different is that whether the seller/s is passionate about the wares they selling or just on commercial basis to make their profits is another story. For most con job, once they take your money, you are history to them. Fakes or replicas are the least of concern on their mind. They be on their way to look for another ‘sui-yee’ (sucker)
My 2 cents

Yep. Never heard of Swatch replica.
Swatch brand of watch is considered as a "cheap" watch in Europe, more like a "wear and disposed of" type of watch (someone was telling me this, not sure if it is true or not). So no point replicating this "cheap" watch. It will be different if replicating watches from several brands like Rolex, Omega, Panerai etc.

Just my 2 sen worth of opinion.

well, in fact I have seen Swatch replicas along the thai border...some where along the lines of fake G-Syiok...

these days, the replicate almost anything cheap or pricey... Eggs in China for example.  :HammerHead:

but back to topic, Rusminag, do you have pics of the inside movement? Cos I have a friend who has a fake 'AAA' rolex that replicates the movement quite well too...

Good info. Not that I`ll be getting a Rolex soon. But maybe there`s value in comparing high value watches a nd how to discern it from the reps for the member. Maybe a dedicated section for this.
