Ultra Thin Watches - Level 4 complexity
« on: August 30, 2016, 05:16:42 AM »
Read an interesting article from the CEO of Jaeger LeCoultre (He used to work in Rolex). The previous CEO of JLC went to Montblanc in 2014, and you sometimes wonder why all the watches coming out lately from Montblanc look like they're from JLC haha.

The new CEO of JLC has broken the team in JLC to mirror somewhat that of Rolex. There are 4 levels, Level 1 being the most simple time only watches... up to Level 4 where sonneries, ultra complicated, repeaters and ultra thin watches are created. I knew that Ultra Thin watches were hard to make, but didn't know that they required the highest level of watchmaking.

For your reading pleasure.

Thanks @adamjohari for the information.

If only the CEO seen the orgchart of Seiko years ago. This is the structure Seiko has been using for generations (san the Grand Seiko, the Credor, Seiko5 etc lines)
