Gst if someone mails in a watch?
« on: August 12, 2016, 07:24:46 PM »
Do we get charged GST if someone just mails in a watch? Not buying. Just someone mailing it? Cause I might want to swap watches in the future. Does it still get charged gst if it isn't purchased?

Yes, gst applies.

Because it is considered to be consumed domestically upon importation.

I think the courier service is important in this case. If DHL or Fedex they will always ask for commercial invoice unless we can proof that the watch is returned or warranty claim, etc. For POS Malaysia I think easily lepas as long as value declared is little.

Trick is the valuation. What is the perceived value of the watch.
