Pilot Watch (Reasonable Priced)
« on: October 11, 2010, 09:06:55 AM »
Hi guys,

I am looking for a pilot watch, budget is tight, so reasonable priced, not the expensive type like IWC, Bell & Ross.

I saw Archemedes in internet, think not bad at all, called Watch-Guild, was quoted RM2k + for basic model. The Archimede website is selling at Euro 365? So much for freight?

I really need the opinion / advise / recommendation of all the master of watch here, is there any pilot watch out there i can find with less than RM2k price tag? I am new to pilot watch. Your help is appreciated. I prefer simple + vintage design.

Many thanks in advance.

LACO all the way.. for a budget B-uhr pilot watch

one of the 5 original suppliers to the German Luftwaffe during the war and also the most economical of all the original producers of the pilot watches.

also they can send to Malaysia without a problem with the VAT rebates. Full of history and originality

All master of pilot watch, please help.

I came across the following brandname the past couple weeks surfing internet for pilot watch.

Archimede vs Stowa vs Steinhart vs Laco

Which one is recommended? Where to get it? My budget is RM 1k plus minus.

Really need your recommendation.

Thanks.

Hi tkyong

Stowa will be out...over ur budget. the best among the lot but long wait and priciest of them all.

as for Archimede, Stein and Laco, i think all have their set of plans.  Laco is popular among MWF people...due to history....ck77 bought one recently and he's happy with it....

even if you google Archimede vs Steinhart, you will get hits and can read comments....

i feel the Miyota Laco suits your budget very nicely...all da best!

I have 7.25" - 7.5" wrist.

Since this is going to be online purchase from Singapore, I can't view the real watch on my wrist. Headache about the size to order.

Which size do you guys think is best suit my wrist, 39mm or 42mm?

Thanks.

If you like pilot watches and given ur budget, I would also suggest Aviator. Aviator is a Russian brand manufactured by Volmax that uses Poljot based movements. Best of all they are available locally  and you can actually try them on yourself b4 buying rather than make a decision based on a website.

Hi TkYong,
I would recommend you look at Laco Pilot Type B Brown which is available now, otherwise, Laco Pilot Type A currently out of stock. Last month Sept 2010, I bought a Laco Pilot Type B Miyota and a Laco Navy Miyota. I am a happy man right now with Pilot and Navy. Build quality A plus and price that you pay with a rebate of 19% VAT and free Fedex service to your doorstep.

Dear CK,

I will try to upload pics for my Laco Pilot 42 mm Type B Brown and Laco Navy 42mm Miyota. The Navy Miyota still not available in the website, I guess Laco specially made for my order..... :Dancing_banana:

I still waiting for the availability of Laco Pilot Type A Brown!! This is one of my collection too...however, EURO exchange rate is getting higher now
