Update: just noticed that this piece is now more accurate after wearing it for some time.  I am curious if it has a running or break in period for mechanical watches such as this?  Before this, it was consistently running faster at about 6-7 secs per day and may be worst when the power reserve was low.  Now, it is much more accurate with the variance for the last 3 days about 5 sec.    ???

Did you position it differently?

Not really. I am comparing both instances where they are stored in my watch box with dial face up. Did what Scott told me and let it sat still for 6 days. Then the last time I took it out from the box to wear and found accuracy is better.

Tried this method and I get 3~4s / day for 7days in a row

maybe try this:-

1) fully wind your watch, in your case, 7 days
2) sync your time.
3) take the final time different when it's almost wind down (let say 6 days and 23 hours later).

Compare the time between (2) and (3).

IWC 7 days is not really that bad. A HK mag done a test before on few long PR pcs and IWC 7 days is the most accurate (using the above method) based on the test result, it is +1 sec after 7 days.

You maybe can try this method ;)

Cheers!

Mine is not so good ... it gains about 6 to 8 secs per day but consistently gaining throughout the period.  I think I will send it back for finetuning/regulation next year.  Other than that, this is one of my favorite watches!  Absolutely beautiful and classy ...

After owning this piecce for a while, I must say this one is a keeper for me.  I still like it as much as the first time I saw it at the shop.  It is surprisingly rugged as it is still relatively scratch-free.

My only minor complaint is that it is consistently running faster than normal.  It is not a major issue but will drive one crazy if accuracy is of primary concern.  It doesn't bother me but I always adjust it once a month or so for minute of difference.

If it is about 1 minute/month  is very good. According to IWC specification, its accuracy is at 0 to +7s /day
