Many Colour Of The Spring Drive Second Hand
« on: February 05, 2014, 12:26:22 PM »
In my humble opinion GS lover buying Grand Seiko are because of the top quality of the polishing work and the accuracy , but for me the gliding motion of the smooth second hand is the main reason that drag me in to this beauty, but of course the accuracy and the fine detail polishing work are also important to me.

For those who are not familiar with spring drive movement You can learn more here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FbmKZ5JXyjo).

Im still remember when i first saw the video for the SBGE001, i was truly amazed and i know i must bring this home , and over a year now, i have 4 SD in my collection and i do hope i can add  new colour to my collection in near future.

My 1st SD GS SBGE001 with silver hand

SBGC005 with white hand

SBGA071 with gold hand

Credor GCLL997 with blue hand

the wrist shot

and the family photo

Hope you enjoy, and sorry for the lousy photo as i have spend all my money in watches no more money to upgrade my camera  :Laughing_on_floor:

Undoubtedly, you're a hard core SD follower, with 5 pieces all acquired (including Tuna) within a year. Must be addicted to the fluidity and silence of SD.

I still prefer pure mechanical movements opposed to SD and Kinetic. Has the technical specialty in mechanical movements.

sean,
Based on numbers and entitlement, you must take over promoting SD from here already.....
You have 4 SD whereas I only have 3  :Blue:

My other 4 GS/Ananta are mechanical...  ;)
So I will continue promoting GS mechanicals only from now on... ;D

In that case I think we must ask Michael for some endorsement fees , better discount for the future purchase maybe  :Laughing_on_floor:

ekovalsky,

holy macaroni..
a Spacewalk…. :shocked1: :Startled: :o
One of my holy grails..
Original issue of only 6 pieces commissioned by Richard Garriott the billionaire space tourist for his space walk.
These original pieces cost abt USD45K each and were not sold to the general public.
Another 100 commemorative watches for commercial issue were later made available for USD30K each on a made-to-order basis.

During my Seiko Shiojiri visit last year, I had the honor of meeting the designer, Hoshino-san and the old white haired watchmaker who is the only watchmaker assigned to hand assemble the Spacewalk…

by any chance r u in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia?
Can we set up a gtg to meet up and share our GS. There are a few of us GS collectors.
Is your Spacewalk 1 of the 6 originals or the commemorative issue or yours is the ultimate Spacewalk worn by Garriot and auctioned for charity by Antiquorum…..
