a bigger sensor compact camera... not compact afterall....

80% size of a apsc sensor.... slightly bigger than 3/4

price around entry level of dslr....

hmm....

but much cheaper than the x10....

u want?

from the spec, it's nice camera, but... too bad the lens aperture is f/2.8-5.8, if f/2.8-3.5 or 4 would be nice.

I know it more important that  cameras produce good photos but why must Canon
neglect aesthetics. This camera is so ugly.

it's slightly more expensive than the x10. bought my x10 in HK for HKD 4680 and G1X is retailing for round HKD5.6k if i remember correctly.

same menu functions and layout as the G and S series. reason i chose the X10 is because I am more used to rotating the lens being a DSLR and S series user. but overall for this price... a Sony Nex-5n would be my choice before the G1X. I do not forsee it selling more than the X10 and Nex system at this price bracket

G15 may be a better option although it doesnt have a full frame sensor in it :)
