Recently came across this event on micro brand organized in in Singapore, just realized quite a number of popular micro brands are from Singapore like zelos, vario, gruppo gamma, Feynman and etc. Put aside MING(anyway can’t call them as micro brand anymore) with that I Can’t recall if Malaysia has popular micro watch brand. Wonder why there aren’t many micro brand coming Malaysia, any insight or opinion

If I would have to guess, it is the lack of market demand for microbrands here. This results in a lack of need to actually develop a local brand here.

I think one of the reasons it’s mostly in singapore because of the demographics and amount of people who are interested in the watches there. Singapore is also an international hub and I think world No. 1 Swiss watch purchases in the Asia region if I’m not wrong. That’s also the reason why so many luxury watch brands focus on singapore first as a gateway to Asia.

Masa Horlogerie has been around since 2014. For what's it worth, I think they give decent offering. I don't own 1 though.
