Nope. Regular servicing and battery change after 6 years for my B8 A4.
-
U need to check for engine oil leaking. very rare for a car even on turbo to consume engine oil. probably leaking or blown cam
-
Most Audis have a 15k mileage service interval. In between, if the system prompts u to top-up the engine oil, that's normal. It's stated in the booklet.

My friend has a 2010 A5 and it drinks engine oil. Another friend has a A4 from the same year, same issue. A check in the forums seem to point to some suspicion of a design flaw. But looks like Audi does not admit that there is a flaw.
Feedback from some other friends is that current (new) Audis do not have such an issue.

i had an B8 A4 2.0 Quattro.
used about 500ml every 1000-2000km, and steadily got worse.
no sign of engine failure though.
i asked my regular service manager (NSS glenmarie) and he said that these cars were designed to consume oil.. normally a quart between service intervals.. but in tropics.. it can be higher.. but he didnt recommend higher viscosity oil..so actually checking for the oil levels became a routine..
as for cars designed to consume oil...some BMW engines and porsche 928.
if i am not mistaken ..sporean car owners actually go to the dealer for free top ups but i am not sure if it is current practice.. the audi AD in glenmarie is frankly not up to par..

Audi car especially the bigger CC like Q7 will not escape from this problem. an overhaul that costs around RM9k to 11k can solve the problem for good.

I've had 3 Porsches and no such problem.
As a rule of the thumb, engine oil should not diminished,if it does, that something is terribly wrong with the engine.I,for one won't accept that this is the norm in certain engines.

Indeed, the 928 was a notorious engine oil guzzler, even a 3 yrs old, average mileage one then was no exception. Other series, esp the 911 was much better.

I'm using an A5 sportback Quattro 2010 for a year . So far my engine does not give me any oil issues but gearbox machatronic ! It says that gearbox malfunction .

If your model is 2012 or older, you'll face with engine oil consumption issue. The issue is fixed on 2013 models and newer.
