Just started dismantling my 1955 Morgan +4 Drop Head Coupe. Owned it for 25 years. Changed all steel screws and nuts & bolts to stainless steel, wherever possible. Morgans have wooden frames with steel panels attached! Ready to be sent to the painter.
Any one interest in classic cars?

Mind asking what's the annual maintenance expenses, & how often do you use it please?

I drive it one a week. Road tax is RM450 and insurance is Rm200 a year. Runs on Ron 97 petrol. Tyres are Rm500 each, will last at least 6 years. Other parts have to be imported from UK. Much cheaper to collect watches than to keep classic cars.

Other parts ...... are these inclusive of the very basic routine maintenance items like oil & air filter, spark plug, belts, clutch, brake pad/disc & etc, ...... all of these have to be source from overseas? Thinking of owning one, but, rather concern of its ease of servicing.

Hi, This car has a Vanguard 2088 cc engine , ( Standard or Triumph ) and has no air filter. Only the clutch and brake parts have to be imported. Belts , oil and other parts can be sourced locally. Even brake cables can be made locally. Getting parts from overseas is not a problem , with credit card and courier services. This is a very rare Morgan , only 51 +4 Drop head coupes 4 seater were made between 1954-55. The Morgan family (Peter Morgan & sister ) used to own 2 and one American gentleman , leader of this SnobMog group ( snobbish Mog ) has a list of all the owners of the 51 Drop heads. I had to seek his advise to locate the chasis number of my car , as the car had to go for inspection by Puspacom, to change the registration card from a 'Blue card' to the new computerised card. JPJ does not have 'Morgan' in their database! It can be listed as MGA or Ford or whatever.
Getting parts for classic cars is no big issue now. Go ahead and buy a classic. A group of enthusiasts meet every 2nd and 4th Sunday morning at 8 am in front of Amcorp Mall for a short drive and Teh Tarik . I am restoring this car for my next generation, as I first restored it in 1990. Chang.

Thank you Dr Chang, for enlighten us of your beautiful 1955 Morgan +4 Drop head coupes 4 seater. Really it must have been quite an effort to maintain it in such an admirable condition. Salute????. Wish I will have the time when my all children have attained their 1st degree.

Restored this 2 seater Morgan 4 by 4 with 1600 cc Kent ( Ford Escort GT ) engine , with new rubber parts and paintwork 2 years ago. Have only done 13500 kms since 1976.

Very nice, what are JPJ rules on vintage car undergoing engine change?
I know in America they drop big blocks into old frames. but is that allowable here?

hi, would love to see more picture of classic car here. Me my self didnt have a pure classic but more into a modern classic porsche and ferrari.

my dad has a triumph, we plan to restore it, needs a lot of work to find the parts tho
