Title: Vintage German "Time-Piece"
Post by: swleong on October 18, 2014, 12:51:21 PM
Not sure if this is the right place to post or not, but the piece that I'm going to share is also a German "time-piece", so.... ;D

This clock, made by W.U.A. Schmid-Schlenker Jr. circa 1930s in Germany (believed is West Germany), was with my family donkey years ago.

Nothing too fancy about the features of this clock, but what's interesting is that the clock display is connected by a long and tiny "stem", and the mechanism, winding, time adjusting are at the "base".

Some photos I taken, hope you will enjoy  ;)

The overall:

The Base 1, well "patinaed":

I think it's a challenge as German brand watches are not that common in Malaysia. It might cost more to service in the future.

Don't think you can replace it with original parts, you may consider to look for some creative watchmaker to custom made those parts to replace for it.
