Event report: Peter Speake-Marin host MWF members
« on: July 06, 2013, 11:33:25 PM »
First off many thanks to Khronos which is the official AD for Peter Speake-Marin and their lovely team of staff who hosted this event specially for the members of MWF.

It was a small and intimate event and thanks to the members who took time to come.

Apologize for not having a group shoot or a table shoot of the people who came, everyone was just too concentrated on what Peter had to say about the brand and his life's work.

He started out briefly talking about what independent watchmaking was and how he started in the business to cater to people who were new to his works and the indie watch scene.

The then went through the various series of his works and how some pieces or collection evolved through time.

Always an eye opener to hear how some pieces were created be it the special dial of the Spirit Pioneer mk2 or the other pieces.

The session lasted almost 4hrs  :o and Peter had many stories to share.

On to the pics and i shall post more tomorrow.

Some pieces ready for the presentation

Peter welcoming everyone

Speaking about the minute repeater tourbillon

The new Triad art piece on the wrist

The Dong Son for the Vietnam market

Stay tuned for closeups of the Triad Art Piece in the next posting

Nice report.
The loupe... Is it the loupe system by a hong kong maker?
Any news in a full fledged sports watch?

As for the sports watch question, the Spirit Pioneer is already meant to slot in that "range" for the time being.

New evolution of the model will be launched in time maybe every BASEL.

Although the SP is at 42mm, because it is relatively thin, even with the signature lugs it sits nicely on the wrist. Coupled with the soft strap.

Very surprised myself.
All were colleagues at the same time.

The next generation would be very interesting as this one have already pushed a lot of boundaries.

Now this you don't get to see everyday or even experience it yourself.

One of the member was taking delivery of his Serpent Date and the strap was too long, who better to change and take out the strap of the watch than the man behind the brand himself Mr PSM  ;D

The design of the bar is much larger than usual, why?
Everything Peter designs he emphasize on extra strength and durability. So its not a "spring bar" but held together by 2 screws.
Ok steady hands now  :P

Look at the size   :P

Spirit Pioneer mk2 looks mighty fine on the wrist  :Dancing_banana:

Look who decide to join the party, they were once colleagues  ;D

Another indie decides to join in as well
