off the beaten track: swarovski octea abyssal
« on: April 19, 2015, 06:37:31 AM »
betcha didn't see this one coming
this is the newer version without the swan Logo on the dial. personally wouldn't have minded it

44mm. 200m WR. Runs on an ETA2824-2

chapter ring..solid markers, clean dial design, cool hands..everything I like
add in a blued seconds hand...and an oddly endearing white on black date wheel...

AR coating is solid..whats cool is the facet-ed ceramic bezel

the fit is remarkably good. finishing is matte overall...the crevices could be done better

the bracelet is where it gets real cool

aluminum makes for a super light bracelet that fits real well in the lugs

pretty sure those are crystals

clasp is well made but could be better finished
each H link and middle part can be removed, that and half links allow for tons of fitting options

cool caseback and the swan logo on the crown: which winds and screw in beautifully

bezel clicks real good too, comparable to the pelagos imo

wrist shot, fits well due to the slim-ish case

lume!

Nice review!  In fact this is the first time i get to know about Swarovski watch. :P

Ceramic bezel, crystal + Al bracelet, something not so common combination in watch.
Indeed is Aluminium common material in making watch?
i do collect a Swatch Beat with Al case and brace, love it so much as Al is not so common to see and its natural matte effect and light weight! ;D

How big is the case size? oh, you mentioned 44mm, that's big size! Don't it come with smaller size like 40mm?
For a typical Asian men like me, my wrist only fit nicely with 38mm or 40mm.
How long will it run if full wind? can it run 48hrs?

And the picture is nice and sharp! mind telling if took by what camera? DSLR or mirrorless digi cam?

so far seems to be about 40 hours
it has a 50mm lug to lug length (curving down) that makes it wear short

i use my note4
previously note3

natural overhead lighting
or at least reflected if indoors

Swarovski being a successful Austria brand. It will be perfect if the dial can stamp "Austria Made".
