ALERT - Lost Watches
« on: March 06, 2015, 02:03:23 PM »
Quote from Lowyat Forum.

Quote
Hello guys... as a fellow guy that loves watches, my house got broken into this afternoon and I lost 2 of my prized watches, a Grand Seiko SBGA029 Diver and a Zenith El-primero Stratos Flyback Striking 10th.
If there is any dubious source that shows up selling either or both of these watches do let me know, I can provide the serial number upon request ( i have to dig through the mess to hopefully find the boxes )

[I have pinned this post for future reporting of similar case]

Yet another owner had been scammed and parted with his Cartier Tank Anglaise. Details here @

Do look out for this piece to reunite this with its owner.

We should find that girl out. She can change the name but couldn’t change her face. Let’s drag her out through social media.

She's been doing such modus operandi for years, been reported many times but well, she's still at it. The difference is that she's moving up the ladder from normal consumer goods to luxury products. But with publicity in this horology circle, that would put her on the spotlight and she'd likely move on to other goods.

Thanks to all the leads, I have updated the details @ https://andywristwatches.blogspot.my/2018/01/community-service-52018-some-updates-on.html. To summarise, out of 6 watches, 2 pieces had been recovered. And there's good chance to work on the rest. It's a safer world for us WIS and flippers again.

I personally had a really close call with this "Inez Lau" person recently. My watch practically left my possession for more than 12 hours but thankfully i managed to recover it back! However alert we are they will still come out with ways to distract or literally just rob you in bright day light. Stay vigilant and be safe guys in trading private sales!

While I don't doubt the truth of this report, I may be opening a can of worms here.

Anyone with the watches' details, including past owners & resellers (and we're talking up to 3 decades ago) can make police reports to stir up trouble. For whatever reason.

Even Rolex's database on "stolen watches" are not updated. Seriously how many true owners would inform RSC after their theft cases have been resolved. The police certainly wouldn't.

I mentioned this before, I don't think Rolex has a database of owners of their watches.  I think they may only have a database of retail outlets for quite  sometime ago... I don't know if they have started a database on owners of Rolex watches now.  If they have started a database for the current owners, I don't think they update their database if the watches are being sold.

Hi All,

Sad day when you have to update this thread.
- My house was burgled WHILE I was actually still inside it on September 15th, 2019 @ 4:00 AM around the Damansara Heights area.
- Dude (Wanker pictured below lol, has a ring with a black stone on it) stole some petty cash and my Panerai Radiomir 1945 Base Logo PAM00753 watch with the reference below:
a. Serial Number: OP7160PL0062569
b. Production Piece: U0822/1000

Wanker

The watch that is now missing

Will update with details of police report reference in a bit.

Best regards,
Shaun

Slim chance to get it back. So far those owner who shared lost report in watch group and forum, just to create awareness and prevent others to buy lost item which later get in trouble. Need to extra careful when COD too.

Unfortunately yup, likely won't see the watch again unless it somehow gets sent for servicing (even then...) to the respective brand servicing centre.
- To echo Alvenlee, the posts above would be more for raising awareness.
