I've sold a Rolex Submariner gold and stainless steel, 90's model.
The best thing to do with rolex's is to take it to Menara Dion, pay the RM 170 assessment/authenticity check.
While they only give you a receipt to tell whether it's authentic , one should tell them that they want to service it and assess the costs.
That's when they give you the "mainetenance/service" paper in white. That's the only way I learnt that the sapphire crystal on the rolex I sold was a replacement and not genuine.

Welcome CKL and Watchnewby
Agree Aum1. always for go a proper check if you feel uncomfortable with it. This is just some basic checking, it can't tell the movement inside is it authentic or not
Cheers

One of my friend have the collection of Rolex watches and buying new one would be so expensive for me, hence I was thinking to get one from him only because he is ready for this deal.

Just knew that the Rolex resale value is quite high compare to others. The lattest model quality has been improve quite a lot like the submariner and gmt ii. The ceramic bezel is so nice and the clasp are more solid compare to the old model.
