Title: Nikon D7000 firmware upgrade
Post by: dpkong on May 13, 2012, 11:04:00 AM

only found this out today...

was shooting some pictures of the children and camera said "Memory Card Error". i have 16GB SD cards in both slots so i swapped them around and the camera worked fine. i put the "faulty" card in my laptop and everything seemed fine. so i went to Google to see whether there was any firmware updates and apparently there was. downloaded and flashed the new firmware and now both cards are fine again.

i suspect there might have been an issue with large cards in the slots since the card in Slot 1 was about half full while the Slot 2 card was empty.

the latest firmware is A:1.02 and B:1.03

hope this helps someone out there.

i'm still on original firmware as i dont have a need to upgrade.
but once in awhile if i remove my cards and put them back in, i get the error too, and mine are only 8gb.
nowadays i just use the usb cable to transfer files.

No error on my D7000. Had it since June last year.
Although i dont take my card out often. Maybe 2-3 times only. I usually transfer the file using cable.

i think the problem only occurs with cards larger than 8GB and the system tries to write beyond the 8GB boundary. copying files over a card reader is a lot faster i think??

D7000 usb port is high speed 2.0, so its good enough.
plus with the cable connected, you're able to see both cards.
