dehumidifiers work wonders . they are some decently priced one out there. check shopee

For my watches, I put dry silica gels inside the 12-piece box. But for the watch boxes, they seem to deteriorate as time passes regardless.

Despite putting dehumidifiers, some of my watch boxes still break down.

it may have to do more than just humidity - it could be the higher ambient temperature or changes of temperature (even if stored in air conditioned room all the time). From the descriptions of some here, the controlled humidity did not help much. The other is an issue of age - the material just slowly degrade and weakned from the friction and movement - but for storage purpose, these boxes with these faux leather are a real pain to keep

I have encountered one of the PU started peeling after 5 years owning the watch. Though I don’t touch the box often but seeing it peeling off broke my heart about lil. Maybe it’s time to get some thirsty hippo
