#1I bought only a handful of watches this year; Rolex has been impossible to acquire without spending ridiculous monies in a short amount of time, whilst AP and PP still remain way out of reach. Not only are the watches in short supply, but I find that the SA experience (at least for me) has gotten more ridiculous -- I asked to try on a watch on display: 126610LV and 114060, just to have an impression of size... and was told they didn't have the key.
I find I am asking myself what I really like with watches, and I want to keep within my ideal two-box "collection". One box of 8 nice watches, and a box of 5 beater watches. However, I find myself constantly looking at Seikos... so this year, I bought three:
SPB199J1 ("Mountain Glacier" Alpinist),
SLA019 ("Forest Green" MM300) and (surprising, even to myself) a Grand Seiko
SBGE201. Picking a favourite is difficult; especially considering the GS has only been with me for some 24 hours, but this is easily between the SLA019 and SBGE201.
Currently, king of the hill has to be the SLA019, but this may change in some days (when the GS gets, hopefully, more wrist time).
#2No, not really. If any of the three watches on my list somehow materializes, I'm ready. Otherwise, I am very contented with what I have. After all, the box is already full. I want to adhere to my 1-in 1-out policy as well.
#3Again, nothing has been really exciting for me in 2020, so this goes back to #2; Rolex GMT, Omega Speedmaster, AP Royal Oak.
