Dietrich watch
« on: July 17, 2017, 11:46:48 PM »
i came across this watch and would say the design is really cool. They give me the HYT or Richard Mille feel. however the price range is not that cheap tho. Anyone own this watch or came across with this feel free to enlighten me.

This brand is not so popular in Malaysia .. u can view at watch atelier at Starhill .

The watch design is quite unique and it uses a
proprietary strap... which I think normal nato maybe able to fit in as well.

I thought it's another brother of Seven Friday. Both look alike and also using Miyota movement.

Somehow they do not have strong marketing strategies and social media present like 7Friday

Honestly the watch is really beautiful and sleek, but the price is very much on the steep side. With that price i can easily buy oris, tag or ball already. haha

I used to own one Dietrich OT-1. The build quality is great but to be honest, after wearing it for a while it stucks out like a sore thumb. That is just my opinion as maybe I'm used to the more conventional watch design. For a change, I guess you can try the uniqueness of the watch out. It's about RM5ish K or so if you get it from international watch forum.

New brand ... not easy attract buyer
Especially without strong marketing agency and budget !

It was first brought in by a small watch shop in bangsar

Then mwf watch store, some supplied to Penang

A JB watch store also brought in few later

But none do well I guess
Frankly - it's not about the watch
It's we ourselves always limit to brand name, for 5k I must get ....
10k better I get...
20k above got to be Rolex ...

Sevenfriday thanks to trendy design n strong marketing... breaking through the rm3-5k market for a while
Daniel Wellington with marketing dominating rm500-1k market

Dietrich organic time built is much better than sevenfriday
With breathtaking design
Love the legible hands and unique case still

This yr Basel, the new design is another level

This might not be my love
But I too can feel the quality from the photo
Still keen to see it in flesh !

Wish them do well frankly
Otherwise watch industry will be boring

yea..u were right. because we typically have bias mindset towards our preferred brand..for 10k i may as well get.......therefore the watch industry will never gonna have new brand and all we see is all the old timer dominating the market. unless they target the lower end market like DW or else really no chance

Agree.

I starting look into those brands that I used to dislike.

I might not buy them but I will learn to appreciate their unusual design, size, material used, technology used, special features... etc. That got to be something from a watch that you can enjoy yourself with.

I never heard of it until recently. Their unique design is really something. What surprised me even more is they are fakes floating around too! They say imitation is the highest form of flattery, so to have their brand replica-ed I guess it's quite a fact.
