Hi great watch. I have the 8500 matte one and it is my daily wearer. I fell in love with the watch the first day I started working and bought it after 3 years of saving up. Great accuracy +2s in 2 weeks for me. There is no quickset date feature but you gain the ability to set the hour hands independently with a quick hours jump feature. Very useful for travelling. 60 hours power reserve ensures that it can last 2.5 days without winding. Ceramic bezel which makes it resistant against scratches. It is also good for office and casual wear hence good versatility. However, there is a downside. It is a thick watch due to the display sapphire caseback. The newer 2017 basel models are thinner I think. It does not bother me that much and still fits under my cuffs. Get the 42mm version for the 8500.  Also, my model lacks the microadjustment on the clasp unlike the Rolex Submariner. You get a lot of  value for the watch. I am still in love with it today. You can pick up bargains in the secondary market at the moment if you don't mind buying used. Still a keeper for me in my collection and I will never sell it. Hope this helps.

Thank you very much for your kind info. Would be great if you can share me some pictures.  Actually what is the main difference between the 8500 and 8900? I love the one with black and orange bezel as it is my favorite colour combination. Any idea of what is the discount offer by AD as i have not visit them yet and apparently watatime is not longer carrying omega

Yeah not too sure where to get them now as you mentioned that most AD licences have been taken back. I bought mine at Watatime last year at a good price.

Beware of getting any Planet Ocean pieces, they could spawn over time  I would opine that the PO is amongst the best design in Omega's stable (I dabbled with the SM300, PO, and Speedy in my collection over time); and well worth their asking prices. Compared to Rollies (I could only compare to pieces I collected i.e. SubC and SD4k), I find that the PO was way under-priced for the quality that it came with. The 2500 and 8500 movements onwards were robust workhorses and well-worth to be included into Bond's tools. And if you were a flipper, the PO Chrono 9300 has its legion of fans; so secondary prices are quite well-preserved too.

I started off with the PO 2500 in the earlier days :


Another PO 2500, as seen in Casino Royale :


Somehow, the PO GMT tend to have relatively higher discounts due to less demand perhaps :


The PO 9300 has great wrist presence :

nice collection andy.! i tried on the 8650 GMT at one of the preowned shop. it was a nice piece with orange num 6 , 9 , 12 and black bazel. wonder what is the retail price for brand new. Do you mind to tell me what is the % you got from the AD?

I had this piece for a short time at the end of last year. The wrist presence is phenomenal, I'd always catch people doing a double take at it, and or asking to take a look, very eye catching. And a beast of a watch, it sits very high on the wrist, but ultimately I found it so heavy and the bracelet so light, that it would constantly 'fall' off the rear side of my wrist (I wear my bracelets very loose) so had to have some links swapped to make it sit on my wrist tighter but ultimately could never get it to sit comfortably so decided to trade. TBH, if it wasn't for that little niggle, I would most likely have kept it, stunning watch, with the 9300 manufacture movement.

I tried the nes 39.5mm 8900 its perfect wrist size for my 6.5in wrist. Tried that st a AD at Gurney Plaza recently

The pictures in this thread are drool-inducing. Hope to own a PO soon. Has anyone bought or had a look at the new PO's with the updated 8900 Master Chronometer movement? The dive bezel design has undergone a slight change and is a lot shinier, apparently.
