With that budget if u want bnib, the I guess you have more choices with tag and ML. Ball is also a good starting brand.
If u don't mind a pre-owned, I highly recommend the omega speedy pro.

Stretch the budget abit more and get a 3228 IWC.

http://www.malaysiawatchforum.com/index.php/topic,13361.0.html

A great and timeless piece with an interesting history and heritage.

A total production of +-600 pieces in existence. You'll be assured of exclusivity and quite a rare beast.

The calibre also fills up the case nicely and not relying on the huge spacers + small calibre that is the rage currently.

My advice...

For the first watch of your future collection; Reach for the stars my friend, buy a pre-owned 'mature' masterpiece. You enjoy what you have on your wrist because What it is, not how old it is.

Drop by Chrono24 (or similar), insert your budget and choose from any number of renowned brands, such as Rolex, IWC, Zenith, Breitling, Omega (high end), or practically any brand you can think of...

Personally, if I was starting over with the same budget...I'm torn between a lovely Omega Planet Ocean co-Axial Chrono or a beautiful IWC Fliegeruhr Chronograph.

BALL watch .... be prepared to lose at least 70% of retail price since they they give huge discounts anyway plus you'd be lucky if anyone wants to buy your watch  of course if you slash the price further then different story.

For Omega on budget, go for their Aqua Terra depends on your budget if not PO would be a good choice

Go with something with history and classic, moon watch will be good. Probably suggest to allocate more budget for something that last longer.

This what I'd do when buying :

1) look for watches that is easy to sell (like most rolex sports models)
2) research the secondary market on how much the value of the watch is and try to buy at the lower end or close to market value
3) iconic and classics preferably (eg rolex sub, Daytona)
4) only buy Rolex and Patek, other brands you have to buy at a huge discount, I'd rather avoid
5) Buy at a really good price
6) if buying second hand get it authenticated first or buy from a trusted dealer

I like a lot of watches but most of them do not meet my criteria so I don't buy. To most people I respect their decision to "buy what you like" but for me it is very important to buy what I like and get all my money back or even make a profit if I decide to sell!

Based on your budget which is quite tight, I would save up more and go no date sub 14060. Probably spend max RM 13k on it, lower the better. Otherwise you could go Omega Seamaster but for me it does not beat a 14060 subby.

That's my advise! hope that helps and GL with your decision brahz!

You might want to consider a preowned omega speedmaster which only cost you about 5-6k. At least it won't be so pain when you accidentally knocked it somewhere :P

Get something what you REALLY LIKE it instead of buying in that price range. Say You want a Rolex submariner 14060m but you only like got half of the cash to get it.

So instead buying something that budget range of "that half of the cash". I suggest you keep it and continue to save up. It is cheaper in the long run instead of buy/sell pieces in order to "upgrade" to the next level
