Dubai Trip
« on: December 10, 2011, 10:52:43 PM »
Dear All,

Was in Dubai last week for a leisure trip with co-workers. 1st time there, hence got excited somewhat especially the Desert Safari trip.

Got myself a new camera ie. Lumix FZ150, a newly updated model from the previous FZ100. With less megapixel, stepped down to 12mp but improved speed & performance. I always have a heart for bridge camera (super-zoom) over DSLR, due to light weight & all-in-one kind of features. Let's see the result below which exploited all the goodies this camera offers.

Free beer at Premium Lounge, KLIA

Port view with the tallest building at the horizon

Another port view

Some potrait shots of locals with their costumes

The power of super-zoom (600mm equi.)

Overlooking Burj Alarab from The Palm

Atlantis Hotel at the "tip" of The Palm

Moon shot using max zoom

The Palace Hotel

Burj Khalifa night view from The Palace

Spices at traditional market

Close-up shot

Some shots at Gold Souk

A view from top of Burj Alarad

Beach shot from Burj Alarab

Many Rolex clocks in Burj Alarab

Burj Alarab shots with different Art Filters of FZ150
Standard

Pin Hole

Miniature

Some shots at Souk Madinat Jumeirah
Beautiful wood carving skill

Colour glass lamps

Another bird shot using max zoom

...what else? sure-lah World tallest building, Burj Khalifa shots

Dubai city shots from Burj Khalifa's viewing platform, 124th Floor

Beautiful & modern buildings just like Shanghai

My favourite, the desert...

Some romantic shots at the desert...

That's all for this time. Enjoy ...

Looking at those lovely pics makes me wanna buy new camera. Was going to get a dslr, but after seeing this  :o might reconsider and give a LumixFZ150 a check out and am sure it'll be more than appropriate for a photograph newby like me.

Anyway, I love those Long zoom pics as well as those deserts one. Classssss.....

Thx Peter, Chris & Zeo9.

Friday,
FZ150 is worth a look. I was initially considering between this & Canon SX40 HS (24x zoom vs 35x), but since I owned a Canon S3 long ago, I might as well try something different. Moreover, FZ150 comes with Leica lens.

Siodee,
I'm not a food expert like Chrisyen, so better leave this task to him.  ;D

Great shots of Dubai.
Really good of your company to let their workers to go for a leisure trip like this.

A good long zoom compact camera, is best for any travelling. It make me consider the FZ150 as my replacement compact.

Thanks for sharing, alvin-8880.

Fz series pretty good for the money. I am still using an earlier iteration, the FZ35. The model before the FZ150, the FZ100 looks like and shoots like the Leica V Lux2. Check out the reviews and comparisons online for the FZ100 ala the Leica V Lux2. This is one.

Hi nayo,
Thx.
FZ150 is the equivalent of the newly launched V Lux3 now, see below

Hi Meoramri,
No, I did not use tripod but resting the camera on top of a fence. Just be steady when pressing the shutter.

Thx Ted.
