Well done, Hanz.
I've just finished a nice dinner but now feel hungry again after viewing your masterpiece.  ???
Must organise a GTG over your place.
Take care, Ciao!
Hehe... thanks for the compliments...

Roast chicken Western style
Just wonder why the bacon were placed on top of the chicken?
Btw, Mrs Han was having a cushy time just to snap the pics & dine ah .......... & maybe to wash up also?
The bacon strips is placed on top so that once it starts cooking, it will release drips of lard to moist the chicken... coz I am lazy to baste it every 20 minutes... lol
And I love crispy bacon to go with my roasted potatoes as well.
And yes, if I am cooking... she will clean up the mess I leave behind.
And if she's cooking? Hell... she cleans her own mess!!

No watch la... my Chronomaster El Primero only can time 60 minutes... not enough...
Gives me more reason to get a mechanical alarm watch... or a 12 hour chronograph...  ;D

But, according to the old wife tales, eat maggi mee will go botak early leh ............ true kah :Laughing_on_floor:
It's because you guys have been eating it the wrong way.
The right way is to eat maggi mee with some fruit to balance the meal.

See, this is where the most common mistakes are made.
According to the chinese yin yang principle... there is always a balance.

Maggi Mee (heaty) + Durian (Heaty) = not balanced. (too heaty... stomach might explode)

I choose watermelon based on this principle.

Maggi Mee (heaty) + Watermelon (cooling) = neutral.

I would recommend other cooling fruits such as Papaya and Coconut.
And I highly recommend that when using coconut, use the coconut water instead of plain water for the soup base. Nothing wasted that way.

Oh I see, chef Hanz..
What about steamed Maggie mee with durian, then? By steaming, it is not heaty, I hope.

Yes... steaming would be a better option... but your whole neighborhood might be smelling like durian.
I am glad you grasp the concept of yin and yang in such a short while...

:Laughing_on_floor: :Laughing_on_floor: I'm loving this thread.. Makes my pening kepala hilang straight away.... But i doubt ikan bilis like me can save 14k/yr even by eating maggi, with expensive cheese somemore to go with the homemade lasagna..

Anyway, i always kautim in food court for around RM10 for dinner, with wifey total amount would be RM20. It's still cheaper than cook at home. But after i seeing your recipe, it seems very easy and i really wish that i try it someday. Thanks ya
