Rolex GMT2 developing patina?

Sharing my recent catch Rolex Gmt2 tritium dial..
Wondering is the watch developing patina????  ;D

May i ask what patina is? i have an old gmt 2 too wandering mine could end up like that... does the watch value increase or decrease with patina... thanks in advance

Patina generally means your watch luminous material slowly turns from white to beige, cream, light brown or sometimes pumpkin colour.. more attractive imo. More attractive to vintage collectors. Generally watch with patina are those with either Radium or Tritium luminous materials. Price is generally a bit more for a nicely patinated watch.

I do wonder if the service tritium dial from Rolex would develop a patina as well. I have relatives who sent their pieces for service in the 70s to change the dial because the original dial was "dirty".  :Blue:

If they use tritium... should develop patina over time.. if the relume with Luminova.. patina might not develop.

patina looks awesome in my opinion. its a problem when you can only buy either a vintage or modern...i want both but have only 1 bullet. so far i go for the modern ones but always liked the vintages, especially with patina
