Actually single hand watches are not new.
Meistersinger had a single hand watch as far back as early 2000. Also German but using either 2824 or 6497 depending on Auto/HW and size of case..

abit out of topic, i see many forumers here actually buy their watch online, eg. Steinhart, Defakto etc. do you guys get tax when it reaches our shore? or is there any other hidden cost that we need to look out for?

Congrats and continue to wear it in good health. I like the idea that they actually included a small surprise. Their "old newspaper" if used as packaging can be possibly refreshing too  ;)
