New Tissot for 2009
« on: August 17, 2009, 01:08:47 PM »
Hi all,

Saw the new Tissot PRC 200 auto chrono at the Tissot boutique at Lot10. Was eyeing this watch when I first read about it in the various watch forums.

http://www.tissot.ch/?mod_collections/action_getsubfamilies/colid_0002/famid_0034/refid_T014_427_16_031_00

Downside is the thickness at 15.84mm.  :o With a relatively small lug at 20mm.

RRP RM2500. This is good value for a auto chrono no less!! Also, the movement is exclusively made for Tissot by ETA.

Any opinions? Itching to pull the trigger  ;D

I don't think it's the 7750 though. From what I've read, it's a lower grade chrono movement specially made for Tissot.

Also, Tissot is using the 7750 for their new "Couturier" range of watches which is at a higher price range.

You have seen watches with the eta 7750 for RM2k-RM3k price range? Do tell me more.

The lowest price of a new watch using the eta 7750 (in Malaysia anyway) is Hamilton (maestro, jazzmaster) which is approx RM4k. Even the Archimede and Steinhart chrono are at least EUR800 (RM4k).

There is a simple test for 7750 family if happen to have it in ur hand. Does it wobble when u shake the watch?

You mean the movement wobbles? That's strange...

Anyway... the initial excitement seems to have worn off. At least now I can think about the watch carefully and not make impulsive decisions.

Nice looking Tissot...i think it maybe possible a 7750...maybe a lower grade 7750? Not sure, not an expert on this :) But then again, if after discount less then 2K, I will give it a go and i will prefer the white dial ;)

Yup. Even those modified ones. Depending on the modification, the effect could be lessen by the modification.

Decided not to get the Tissot after much consideration. It has a highly polished case which I don't really like.

I will be sure to check that out the next time I see a watch with a 7750 movement.
