Title: Seiko watch modification/repair - DIY or find watchmaker to do?
Post by: Willie Ho on April 26, 2018, 10:30:43 AM
Hello guys, i have a SNZF17 as daily beater, been taking good care of it until last week, the most unwanted thing happen, i banged my watch to corner edge of table, face up. Bezel is not only scratched but dented also, and of course, the Hardlex glass had developed a minor scratch.  :'(

Now I'm thinking of repairing the watch, which is changing the bezel & glass, but sounds like a good excuse to upgrade to ceramic bezel & sapphire crystal.

Anyone with experience with that? Need advice/recommendation. Thanks in advance.

I've only seen a modded SNZF17 with a ceramic bezel insert and domed saphire crystal, worn by a colleague. He got someone to to the mods for him for a fee. However, you'll probably need to source the parts yourself.

Good place to start would be DLW - https://www.dlwwatches.com/collections/ceramic-bezel-inserts/snzf17

cheers!
