I said this because my friend gave his son a watch (not expensive type, i think seiko cause he dint tell) then one day he showed his friend the watch and then leave it on the floor and got loss. He did not tell his father abt it until his father asked him where the watch. His reaction is just "no feeling" as if nothing had happens.
He actually asked me if it is ok to give him a bola spacemaster to him as an encouragement. I just advice him better not too cause it will be a big problem if he lost the watch again & not to mention he doesn't care about it. :HammerHead:
oooooooo... mine is not worthy.... :'(
Come on Thalis, let's see yours. Don't be shy.

:o Thats really a very high compliment for me... ;D Tq bro. Most I got are Seiko. Only 1 Swiss diver at the moment. Not have that much $$$ to get a high-end Swiss or Japanese. :'(
If you meet my friend, maybe he has the best collection divers I ever known. If he really like the watch... he will buy more than 1. He got 4 Sumo, 4 Monster, 2 6105, so many 6309's, 3 Samurai & others Seiko diver. Also other make like Orient Pro-diver, a number of Citizen & many other. Huh :Startled:
No problem bro. Maybe in December I'm going to organize a small gathering..... blogger & some friends at Putrajaya. Maybe we can meet there. Check my blog for more info. Hehe...

Thats a 6139. Most Seiko collector just call it Pepsi or 6139 Pepsi. The Speedtimer model is one most collector want. As far as I know Speedtimer is a Japan model. No different with the international model, only at the 'speedtimer'.
Not Seiko per se ..but i do have a soft spot for this..
my first auto watch.
awaiting parts to convert my SKX into a "GMT Desert Diver" :)

By the way how do you convert the SKX to a GMT style watch?

just change the bezel into a 12 hour marker instead of a minute marker. easier to read a second time zone off it.
not my watch but u get the idea...

Hi Chan,
Great to see your wonderful vintage divers. These watches are practically older than I am. I don't think Seiko is still providing any technical support for these vintage pieces. How do you keep them in such good condition?
Sorting out the watch boxes and decided to take some quick group shoots of the family. Unfortunately a few family members are still in the Philippines and the Land of the Rising Sun getting some repairs done and will not see those leaving soon.
Some of the members will be shipped out to new owners next week. Some are still looking for new owners. Some will remain.
Only one in the group shots was bought more than a year ago. The other 18 watches only joined the family since April this year. :P
Thank goodness my trigger happy days are slowly coming to an end and I sense my interest in watches is slowly shifting towards a new direction, or perhaps rather I'm finally realizing my true calling. :Praying:
Meet the family.
Cheers!
Will bring to show you tomorrow :)

Hi Coco,
You can show it to us tomorrow but Takashi won't be around. He'll be having a good time in Vietnam.

Ohhh, you mean the yellow hands? I thought you're talking about the dial. :-[ My bad.
Nice one you have there and it's great to know that there are others who have also got it , but I rarely saw this model being shown around. Any idea as to why?

Dato's Lee is definitely wearing a g shock. Yeah.
Btw, yesterday after watching the final between Dato' Lee and LIN DAN, i receive a message. A joke, which I want to share with u. If Lee Chong wei can get Dato ship, Lin Dan must be a Tan Sri now...hahahaha
Bro DJ,
Thanks for the ilmu. I might need to learn more lessons from you, the Seiko sifu. ;)

Ekeke... I'm not that good bro. Still rookie & still learning. ;)
This is mine...6309-7040 from 1980. Fully restored (case refinish, AR sapphire crystal, movement service, gaskets etc) but with a subtle custom (red tip on seconds, blue/green lume). Good to go for another 30 years!
Photos sent to me from the restorer when it was done, will get a wrist shot at some point

I've been to your blog, and if that's rookie, then I'm an unborn. ;D
BTW, had a look at your Seiko collection and found that a 6139 is still missing. Don't fancy it huh?
Actually I already got the 6139, but already sold it since I got the 6105. Hehe... Really love the it... :-* :Laughing_on_floor:

Thanks Bezelnut. I love Rolex and Seiko divers, I think they are the best mechanical dive watches out there, but I an't afford to collect Rolex!

Totally agree with you.
But your Marinemaster should be close to Rolex territory, right?
Quality-wise, I think the MM300 is actually nicer than the old generation subs. Better bracelet, better case finishing, better hands, dial is comparable, 8L35 movement is as nice or nicer than 3135. Price-wise, MM300 is only 1/3 - 1/2 the price of an old Sub. Amazing.
The new generation subs have surpassed the MM300 in most ways, but then they are something like US$7,000+, even for a used one.
I have an A-Series 16600 which I absolutely love (the current models are generally a bit too flashy for my tastes), I'd never sell it, but I doubt I'd ever buy another Rolex.
How could I forget this one?

G'day Yoda, I was a member of SCWF. I think I've been banned now, for speaking my mind during the Pete26 / Giorgio watch fiasco. Pete is a good guy, and it was shameful the way everybody piled on against him. I haven't tried to log in since.
But I don't want to bring other forum politics to this forum. I'm just happy to finally be a member of a good forum which is based in the same timezone as I am.
GMT +8 FTW!!!

Nice.
Not all New Monster (SRP series) made in Japan? or only certain batch?
Sorry if I asked nooby'ish question, still learning here.
Yeah you are right not all the SRP
309 is made in Japan, those with J at the end of the product code is made in Japan
But the monster is not a JDM considered international model
I got my J model from our neighbouring country
ah, we got the same strap.

Now the series numbering make sense. Thanks for the lesson.
One more silly question, do the new shark teeth monster have JDM or LE version? I know "old" monster had blue, red, yellow, snow LE, also JDM night monster series & trek monster series. But do sarlacc enjoy these treatment? Or maybe it is too new for morphing.
In my limited knowledge, I only know 5 SRP monster, the black, orange, sunburst, dracula & black orange.

Brother no such thing as silly question. I am watch silly also.
As far as I know when I was in Japan recently Monster is not display at the counter so I think its not a JDM. To further prove that if you check the Seiko Japan website for the model its not there also which only shows the JDM. In addition when I was in Japan I ask them where I can get SRP309J the retail assistant said this is in International Market model not avavilable here.
I have seen a few limited edition Monster mostly in the Thailand market. I think you may get some Blue, Yellow Monster and all kinds of monsters in Thailand if your are lucky.
I saw one orange monster with complete PVD black which is also a LE but all sold out.
My monster in the pic looks the most fierce in the pic
