My latest acquisition; Discontinued Ingenieur Ref.3521

Hi Folks

This is my latest acquisition


This is a discontinued Ingenieur Ref.3521 that was introduced in 1992 & discontinued in 1999. It is identical to the original "Jumbo" penned by Gerald Genta   from 1976. The case has a soft iron core protecting it's movement that is good for antimagnetic up to 80,000a/m & water resistant to 120m. It is supplied with a JLC movement & modified with a platinum rotor

This is now a collector's item  It is a true modern classic.

Watch Details Movement;  Mech auto winding. JLC Ca.887/2, 33jewels, 45hrs reserve. Platinum rotor. COSC chronometer certified; Signed & numbered.
Dimensions; 34mm X 40mm X 9mm
Glass Sapphire crystal with date magnifying glass
Case;  Brushed steel tonneau shaped case in 3 parts. Screw lock bezel, back & crown.
Dial ; Black with applied gold batons & markings. Date
Straps ; Fitted with orig. signed steel bracelet
Hands ;Steel
Functions ; Time & date. Anti magnetic

This purchase comes in complete full set, with papers and boxes.
Condition; 95%. I am the second owner.

this is great looking...
i always like engineer with case designed by gerald genta....
but i always wonder wny latest edition with eta 2892 movement is not well accepted...
probably too many choice with the price range...

where did you get it? so gd condition with gd movement..... mine to share how much u paid for it?

Hi

As you look at all the current (ingenieur) model, the bezel had 5 holes. For Ref; 3521. the holes are for for the special tools to 'screw-turn' to open/remove the bezel. All the later (newer) model had these holes for show only - as they are pressed to fit the case. No, the bezel is not off center. They are fitted in such a way on all ingenieur models.

The current model had the ETA based moment (which I believe).

Tho photo shown here is  a 'copy' shamelessly copied from passion, Sg. which is selling for S$6,200. And I paid about a third for it. (a good bargain)

The latest Ingeniur comes with IWC in house movement . I am absolutely-positively sure about it cause i was so close to get myself one. The plan scrapped due to i was still bleeding  :'( from GO-PML i bought .

yes. 80110 is a complete in house auto movement... now also used in some of the vintage collection!

i always like the AMG version, but something scare me which is it's strap will "break off" at side. now 'm thinkig of ingenieur 7 days but the same old design with all others iwc 7 days lines is stopping me.

Sold for a good price too.
It has the delicate jlc movement.
