If high end vintage, Ebay is a good place but you have to know what you're looking for and do your homework before buying.
-
depends which brand u are into it, knowledge is a must to have in this field

Vintages most likely through the internet. And if you do get a seller from Malaysia the asking price seems to be generally higher than other offering.I have acquired a few Rolex vintages from some well known websites but you must always check the seller.Go for the ones with plenty of postings and previous sales.Know what you are looking for. Also roughly the market rate of the more common vintages.Negotiate the price, and finally get a reference check of the seller. There are plenty of good guys out there willing to help. One other thing is be patient.Good luck

I ran into some really good pieces in antiques shops in Jonkers street melaka but authenticity is questionable tho. But good selecetion nonetheless

Make a trip to Johor to his shop, it's only 3-4 hours from KL. You get to select & try it on.

Finally made my way to the shop yesterday. Some nice collection of vintages... he's got trays and trays of them. I think reasonably priced although price is somewhat fixed especially if you deal over phone/mail. Got myself a little Titoni which is fun.
Note: Please check his descriptions properly so you know what you're buying. He'll usually state if any parts are non-ori. Some dials are restored.
Happy Hunting!

Care to share some pics?

you can visit Hang Thai main branch in SS2 PJ ... they do have some vintages watches such as omega, rolex,
vulcain, longines, seiko, etc.... the Boss is very experienced in this industry...

Hi, a few updates here.
Haven't got any chance to deal with watchlim, but have personally went to a few reputable antique watch shops in Melaka & Johor area. Sadly haven't found anything that I like that are in my affordable range.. Am personally more interested in a Rolex. Hunting for a 6694 or 1601, or if I could get a 1803 below RM10k.... or if I should wake up :Blue:

Vintage enough or not is depends on your personal preference.
To some people, a 5 year old watch also can be vintage. ;)

Ebay. But be very very careful and do your research first.

A lot of fakes on ebay...even vintage watches are cloned. Google and reseach 1st..i was hunting for vintage tudor subs...gave up after reading about all the fake snowflakes franken watches out there.

Hi guys,
just joined this forum as I relocated to KL for work.. have been on the vintage path, and was also wondering about finding nice vintages here in KL/Selangor region. All my vintages were purchased online, except for 1 back in spore.
If there are any shops here in KL/Selangor, would love to hear about it too! I did visit Berjaya times square, with a couple of watch resellers at the 6th floor... there was one shop(sorry, I can't remember the name of the shop) that the owner had an awesome personal collection of Rolex vintages but sadly none of them were for sale...
Just to share... for me, I trawl RPM, Chrono 24, VRM, and the rolex forum in the US. I prefer to deal with trusted dealers with good references as vintages requires alot of research and homework.. But a fun 'hunt' nonetheless!

Watch lim is great. He is quick, has a good range of watches and would you believe it, trustworthy. Go for it.

Any idea if those watches being sold in the flea market in Amcorp Mall are any good? Saw some decent vintage watches there but am not an expert to tell if the watches are genuine or not.
Feedback will be greatly appreciated.

I've only heard good things about watchlim too.
-
Watchlim is good to deal with. Don’t worry to deal with him.
