Go for Orbita...you will not regret it....very well built winder... Solid wood with nice lacquer finishing and fine suede on the inside... And a nice rotorwind technology....

No mine is the more basic one. Just an on off button. Turns clockwise for 5mins, rests for 15mins, then counterclockwise for another 5mins, rest 15mins and repeats again.
Winds pretty slow...
I have a JLC master geographic with a power reserve comp as my guide whether it over winds or not.
I think it should be ok... *cross fingers*

When you have the time, would you mine counting how many rotations per minute it does? Interested to see if its the same speed as mine.  At the moment, I have mine on for about 4 hours a day. Seems like its keeping my rollies alive.

Hey buddy, it's about 6.5 rotations per minute. So it goes for about 5mins each time which means approx 32 rotations.

Hope that helps!

Even if it didn't last, to the very least it will then serve as a watch display box. Not a total waste after all.

Just get it turn on during the night will do..min power reserve at least 48 hours for an automatic watch..this will also prolong the life span of the motor..

You can also try to use battery. The rpm will go down as it is not 5v anymore..

I got the one from Lelong (4+6) about a year back, very happy with it and bought another as a gift for a friend (2+3).  However, because of my old Rolex, which is uni-directional winding, it does not wind sufficiently often as my power reserve will be spent after 2 weeks plus in the winder (of course, if I wear it, then it is ok).  The other watches are ok so I think it is not "over-winding".

I got mine from a shop in Subang, found them through mudah, for around RM 150 if I'm not mistaken. I've been using it for more than a year now, leaving it switched on everyday.
Touch wood, it's still going strong & for the low price, no fears of getting a new one if broken but not so soon hopefully.

I can't seem to find the shop back on mudah, hence, didn't post it the first time around.

Perhaps you can have at look at these instead, in Groupon:

Mine is still working.  My two rollies are on it for about 4 hours a day. Touch wood but still working......

I run it using Eneloop batteries and it goes for about a month before needing a recharge.

I have used China-made winder 6+9 for more than 2 years. No issue so far.

Watches are fine too.

something strange has started happening past several weeks with my sub and exp on the winder.

I generally wind it about 4 hours a day on the winder, but both watches have started to just stop after 5 days on the winder (even after being wound for about 4 hours a day). What is even stranger is that when I attempt to wind the watches they feel like they have been nearly or fully wound already! Anyone experienced similar situation? I will continue to monitor and update.
