I use a Wolf watch winder and find them reliable as they can use either AC or battery power source. Boxy, i'm not sure but i know they are quite reknowned too but Wolf is cheaper. You can find both Wolf and Boxy at Tropicana Mall. Wolf at the shop that sells Russian watches and Boxy at the high-end pre-owned watch shop at grd floor.

Don't know about the Mcguyver style demagnetizer. But I bought one from the Bay. it works for me. Cheap. Just search the bay and look for demagnetizer, it's a little blue rectangular box with one red button and one red light. will cost you around 8usd + shipping. A much much better way than to send your watch to the AD to be demagnetized. learned my lesson and never look back. Good luck.

Dear all,

Where can you buy watch demagnetizer in Malaysia ?????

If you have a CRT TV, place the dial such that it is in contact with the screen. Switch on the TV. You then go to MENU options and select 'Degauss' or "de-magnetize" option. Your TV will start the de-magnetizing process for the monitor and the watch will piggyback on this.

This recipe was obtained from a thread in Watchuseek forum.

Perhaps should get the CRT TV instead... dual function...

Which one is cheaper now, CRT TV or a demagnetizer?   :-\

URMmmmm.....

Sorry to be a party pooper guys, but since when did this threat moved from watch winder to a de-magnetizer?

Saw one in Groupon for a watch winder and the supplier is in Puchong. I have not been there to check out the merchandise.

Anyone tried and tested it?

Peace...

friend of mine has come across this problem, after switched on 4 winders for whole day, and all watches did not move in the second day, suspected it was affected by the magnetic force of the motor, any one have the same problem? now I just use it as a watch box for storage ;D

Reviving an old thread, just bought two Orbita Siena Programmable One, an American brand watchwinder, motor circuit made in Austria, winder assembled in the United States.

First impression:
Pro-superbly well-built (solid wood), heavy and use of a good quality piece of glass for see-thru window, super quite motor, bi-directional rotation, nice cushion for watch, which fits snugly. Overall feel-much better than my previous made in china (4 watch winders + 6 watch compartments).

Cons (so far)-price.

How i plan to use the winder-Most of the watches will be in other boxes (to minimise the wear and tear), but at least two watches that i intend to wear for a week (or two) will be in these two winders.

A few pics:

wolf winder i search on ebay or amazon, cheap cheap also 1.5 myr up.
