Whats your beater watch?
« on: June 01, 2010, 09:11:24 AM »
Since its a bit slow this week i will add my newest addition thanks to gigiplastic .
Before this it was my Tag 4000 series which followed me to overseas backpack trips and late night mamak.
Since its not to say cheap i found my ideal watch for these kinda activities from now on.

The Seiko5.
For a watch at this price point the weight is really quite significant.
Matte finish case perfect for not being a fingerprint magnet.
But i dont understand the reason to make the area between the lugs "mirror finish" as it shows dirt clearly.

Perfect size for me and has a very legible dial.

Movt, does not hack or handwind though.

Wrist shoot

Side profile, the strap could be a bit thicker though. With the weight of the case and watch it kinda makes it top heavy and not quite balanced.

Love the strap and same matte finish buckle too, wont be worried to get it wet.

So lets see your beater watches and what are they.

Abel - I, once had the same model. Broken and threw it away. If this watch is too big for you......then the airking will definitely not suitable for you... :HammerHead:

dc
I am almost a recovered watchaholic, but last checked shows only 70% recovered. How?

I see. Err this watch is 42 mm right? While the airking is 34 mm and i find it fit perfectly on my wrist. while the seiko is a big and heavy for me, not to mention the original strap dont fit my skinny wrist at all.

As you know I currently trying saving $$ for airking not to mention waiting em to put the parachrom blue hairspring in airking movement. Exp episode 1 i felt is not my type of watch. No offence to exp 1 fans  ;D

This seiko5 - 42mm?. But mine is those days is only 36mm. Then my mistake.

Btw, my daily beater is the 16014 - for the moment

Just go to Thong Sia in KL, i think the strap cost less than rm20.
I believe CK77 bought and using it in his monster.

Ya go straight to Thong Sia to get more competitive price. The size for monster is 20mm, by the way.
