i use to stay in USJ, and seen dozen cases of snatch thieves near taipan area
then i moved to Sam Mansion, right behind the Chinese Assembly Hall. Tons of mainland pros staying upstairs. evening got pimps come and pick them up for work
incidentally Ah Niu and the wife use to stay above as well. u can see those chinese radio DJ always come over to visit him.
love the place and ironically it;s the most fun and safe place to live.
it;s not me who;s afraid to get robbed. i look like an ah beng with tattoos to begin with. it;s the women around me that i am scared of
another funny story.
i always take the overnight bus back to ipoh and would reach back in the wee hours of the morning. my grandma;s house is next to the wet market.
so i asked her if the food stalls in the market started their day yet?
she looked out of the window and said "oh! so dark, nothing is opened. nowadays no one dare to open their stalls until it gets brighter. there's a spate of robberies targeting those hawkers and joggers"
i did not think much about it.
so the next day, i went and pick up the wife cause she also took the overnight bus from SG to ipoh. it;s only 6am and still dark.
from a far i see an old uncle jogging but holding somehting in his hand. as i drive closer i see it;s a stick. further down the road.. it;s another uncle with another big stick in his hands.
maybe it's true after all. for all these retirees ...no muggers are going to scare them off their daily morning runs.
