i think it's good to narrow down your collection at start
Not just brand but also the "type" too... that's part of the fun too to keep you hunting the right one
Then, the next question is, quality versus quantity... personally, instead of getting few look-a-like-brand i will save enough to go for the one i really really wanted... this way, you might end up saving more in long run...
another good brand i like will be SINN, like Yen pointed too... reasonable price (compare to other brand la) with good quality and build... b&r is good looking watch but in my opinion a bit too much on their limited collection... too many colors now a day, you can get phantom, green, orange, yellow, blue, white, etc... just too many
Another low profile military watch, Hanhart. Maybe can check this out too
