Stowa - 6497 Prototype (Added Picture)
« on: May 20, 2010, 04:12:36 PM »
hi! guys,

im sure! most Pilot watch fanatics are well aware of this brand "STOWA". up till now, i have only recently started to be interested in Pilot watches. My first impulse purchase was a Laco, dont know why! the built of Stowa seems much nicer and reliable but still the brand Laco just attracts.

anyway! im here to inform that Stowa is in the stages of producing a prototype based on swiss unitas 6497 and their prototype is based on the 1940 WWII pilot watches. but of cause they are going to make it more wearable, i think its a 41mm....1mm larger then their normal pilot watches.

anyway! im still waiting for more news and pictures. be sure to stay in tune..hahaha!

cant wait for them to release it, i guess my first stowa will be this prototype.

22 May 2010.
Received this picture from Hafner on the prototype. As mentioned they are still in designing stages, they have yet to reveal the dial and the finishing, but according to him, the size of the case will be 41mm. Also, please wait for another week, as they promised to feed me with some more information after they have their further discussion with their supplier on the movement.

hi! frens,

Sorry! actually all this happen accidently, there is a 1st batch Stowa 40mm Pilot watch, Manual winding, swiss unitas 6497 that i wanted. so i send them a inquiry to ask about that production. they then replied that they no longer produce that batch and also, they will not do any custom order for any customer.

hence, he said that there will be a new watch soon, its still a prototype but they are quite fixed about launching it. but still in discussion with their suppliers on the watch movements and etc.

well! there is no pricing yet, also they are not open for pre-booking. Actually they dont accept any pre-booking. if not i Fast Fast book 1-2 units already lor...hahaha!

anyway! they will be updating me with more information, but i dont think it will be on pricing lar....i think its more like the finishing, and specs of the watch.

dont worry i will update as soon as i get any news....

i know...im eager about this too...! cheers.

generally these LE are pretty expensive.

stowa seem to be tied up with lots of new release.. movement from Soprod and Durowe. that would be a long long wait

No offense to anybody but to me all looks the same, maybe with diff movt inside.
All the "new" pilot and marine design never changes.
Seen one and i've seen it all.
But no denying that their workmanship is top notch for the price we paying.

Good luck on the waiting.

I placed my order on Flieger Original 1 year ago, but they run out off movement.
So i have to wait till new movement released.  ;D
