Ok guys, once and for all, a question for your tastebuds, I need advise on the BEST, GREATEST, TASTIEST nasi lemak stall within the Klang Valley...
I've been getting many opinions and suggestions and would like to hear the forum member's opinion. I'm planning on a street food rampage this weekend.
-
try Village Park at Damansara Uptown
-
plenty of version...
if small pack one... ppl q long at jln ipoh... near tmn kok lian
road side one i used to tabao at jln sg besi in front of police station, long q every morning as well

Village Park and jln Ipoh is on my list! Yeay!
I remember USJ, used to stay there for a short while, but I don't recall a RM1 nasi lemak pack! I should go back there this time!
I'm trying to remember somewhere near a parking lot off Jln Munshi Abdullah, that there's this gerai that opens really early in the morning with streaming hot nasi lemak kukus, with all the fresh additional stuff to go with it (thinking about it now makes my mouth watering already). I discovered them after I drop my wife to one of her temporary office location some years ago. They normally sell out before 10 am. Does anyone know of this stall? Hope they're still around.
Thanks guys, keep it coming...
-
Small pack ones...I swear by the ones sold by a couple of Chinese sisters at TTDI wet market. By 8 am, all sold out so must be early.
For fine dine like Chris refers to it...........Madam Kwan??? :D :D :D
-
I think gd nasi lemak is every where in Klang valley
I like k3k nasi lemak as well
With the spring chicken goreng rempah... ( remind me the famous Tmn perling restoran mana lagi nasi lemak )
Basically I also like my mum home made nasi lemak
More onion n ikan bilis with little tamarind juice kind of sambal
Rich Coconut Fragrance steam rice
Fresh cucumber
Crunchy b salty peanut n ikan bilis
With jus fried egg
It's already a great great nasi lemak
Another best nasi lemak in my memory is an old Malay uncle who sell at outside of my primary school, he must b in heaven now...
Pack one, love his sweet onion sambal to dead...
Hope he can still make me nasi lemak in heaven one day
-
Mentari park: Jaring restaurant, nasi lemak normally available around 12pm.

this old chinese couple sells nasi lemak with some beautiful pork rendang, been there for more than 10yrs.
for halal ones -
i prefer kampung baru over village park.

Singapore also got nasi lemak, but with the addition of their non-halal chicken / beef etc, the whole thing becomes non-halal.
likewise, the same with the SS2 one.

Malaysian Chinese variation
Although it is not common to see Malaysian Chinese stalls and restaurants selling nasi lemak, there is a non-halal version that contains pork sold in towns and cities such as Malacca and certain parts of Kuala Lumpur. Some Malaysian Chinese hawkers are known to make minced pork sambal.

Non-halal nasi lemak is as absurd as halal bak-kut-teh..
-
Donald,
you should try the rendang pork nasi lemak and then make your decision..
Have you tried the famous Melaka pork satay? Only 2 places in Melaka.

There's a few that I usually go to. My favourite 2:
1. Village Park - Banyak orang, to go on weekdays for lunch, haiya... forget about it. Try early morning weekends. They close early to, i think at 7pm
2. Nasi Lemak Maybank - near the Pelangi disco/night club at Paramount PJ. Cheaper, combo it with their Milo Ais. Power.
-
Can I concluded
V hv 2 many type of nasi lemak
Every1 hv their best nasi lemak in msia
From the small basic pack to the luxury version
Some famous due to sambal
Some Bcoz of steam coconut milk rice
Some just the rendang / sotong / ayam goreng rempah....

Herd mentality is that if it's still crowded, it must be good... :HammerHead:

seems they got a hot chick manning the counter now.
village park is still good, definitely better than most.
for 'branded known' ones i still prefer kampung baru...too bad have to travel further for that.
still cant beat a nice nasi kerabu for breakfast :P
-
Park Village Nasi Lemak - a generous serving of fragrant rice cooked with santan, and the usual condiments, plus a deep fried (marinated) chicken drumstick with upper thigh costs RM8.70. I think it's more than just herd mentality, the food deserves some credit!
-
Try Villa Park one...really nice.

Actually the one next to Nasi Lemak Antarabangsa is nice too... Lagi berlemak. I think the "International" one is now overhyped -lah.

is 223 still a floodzone everytime it rains?
-
is 223 still a floodzone everytime it rains?
nope.. i think it happened way way back.. when the food court having the original roof or no roof..
when they change the roofing and some drainage fix.. rarely flood i think.. but the parking area next to it still is a floodzone.. and also a hotspot for break ins.. :HammerHead:
don't park at the dark area.. if u could park nearer to the road..
-
Off the beaten track...NL bungkus at university hospital at Menara timur cafe actually good :thumbsup:Maybe I was hungry. Can anyone else concur?

To those frequenting Village Park at Damansara Uptown, if you see a van belonging to company providing air cond servicing parked near or you see some ppl going in and out from the kitchen carrying air cond servicing stuffs, don't eat there for that day. Go back tomorrow or the day after that. ;)
-
I see no one mentioning this...
Nasi Lemak Hilton Driveway!
It's the first stall along the little corridor between wisma genting and wisma cosway.
Village Park is also one of my favourites of course.
